Isn't this the same Kennedy that we have on our roster? "I think I just saw Gretzky!"

The magic he can pull with some speed as a winger...

He just needs some more NHL experience. He's only a rookie.

It's a direct quote of the announcer... :obscene-smokingweed:

I remember seeing that clip when we got him in the AHL on the old forums.

I haven't seen him pull away from any defender in the NHL like he did in college. I will give the kid some time but for the most part this season he's been a ghost except for visiting the penalty box.

He's a rookie, dudes. He played center for the first 40 or so games. This is him after probably 3 or 4 years in college playing the wing. I wouldn't call his rookie season a failure, either. He has 20 points and will probably reach 25 by years end. Why is everyone so impatient? Besides that, he is such a tough kid. He will always go into the corners, to the front of the net, and all the other dirty areas of the ice to try to get the puck. More times than not, he wins that battle despite his size disadvantage. I'm not sure if you cynics watched the Tampa game, he had and set up some great opportunities playing with Roy and Vanek and thanks to hard work and his ability to control the puck. Give this kid some time in the NHL, and I wouldn't be shocked if we saw these sort of things and bigger point production from him in 2 or 3 years.

Kennedy needs to play wing. I think, in his prime, he'll be a 60 point per year player, if he stays at wing.

kennedy wasnt exactly hailed as the second coming either till about 07. really, wasnt he a 6th round pick? this kid has already exceeded all expectations, as any 6th round pick playing in the NHL is gravy. if he never played another game again, the sabres won that deal by a landslide.

he will get better. will he be a 60 point guy? i doubt it, but if he can chip in and play half a season for 5 years for the sabres, thats still a huge win for the sabres.

This, too. Me musn't forget that he was never even expected to make the big show until the year his Spartans won the title.

Drafted: WSH / 2005 NHL Entry Draft
Round: 6th (181st overall)

181st pick, playing this year and has 20 points. Yea, he should have never been playing for an NHL team with being that low in the draft.

2008-2009 Portland Pirates-AHL 73GP 18G 49A 67PTs

Not bad at all for being a 6th round pick.

I think playing on the wing and with Vanek/Roy has breathed a little life into his season, I hope he stays there for a little while so we can see if it's a fluke or not. He's actually been stick handling for the first time in months and it led to a nice deke right around the goalie tonight. I can't complain to much.

I think we have found a winger for Vanek and Roy actually.

I said in the GDT Please Never break up the VRK line. Vanek and Roy both had two assists on the night, one on the PP and one even strength with Kennedy scoring.

Kennedy is perfect for Roy and Vanek.

I'm loving the hell out of this line.
