He's our best d-man but a rookie.....Will the Bruins go after him hard ?

Will he succumb to the pressure ? Will he play just like he always has ?

Or will he maybe even step it up a notch ?

Will he start delivering some big checks ?

there is an article today in the Buffalo News on him http://www.buffalonews.com/2010/04/14/1 ... myers.html

I thought this was a good quote:

"Tyler Myers is a very special young man," said Bruce Hamilton, the owner and general manager of Myers' junior team, the Kelowna Rockets. "He was a man among boys in the playoffs and into the Memorial Cup last year.

"I don't want to say he was ruthless, but he wasn't afraid to disrupt the other team by himself. He took liberties with people, and that's what happens in the playoffs. You've got to upset the other teams' best guys, and he did that. He's not afraid of anything."

Tyler Myers - Future captain of the Buffalo Sabres, and future Norris Trophy Winner

Manning the machine gun on the Tyler Myers Bandwagon - just in case any teams have an idea of prying him away from us (3 GM's shot already)

Connolly/Roy - 2 goals in the last 47 playoff games

I think he'll do just fine, doesnt seem like he's felt much if any pressure from day one. Sometimes he does take a second too long to make a decision, but he's a rookie he'll learn. Let's Go Sabres!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not his first post season... so I think he'll do just fine.

In fact, I fully expect him to surprise many of us with an elevated level of play. ;)

I'm pretty sure he'll just keep on truckin'

He hasn't played like a rookie up til now, I don't expect him to revert.

Well, the Bruins do love men. Going after him flaccid would probably not be any fun for them

Zing!

I think he should be fine. Tallinder has been here before, he can help him just like he did in the regular season.

I'm gonna have to review the tapes quickly for those hiccups.

He had a few bad turnovers trying to get it out of the defensive end. Then again, so did half the team. Still can't afford to keep making those mistakes, though.

He also had a few good shots and chances. But yeah, he does need to have better puck control and stop playing with it. He's fine though.

Actually, it looked like he wanted Boston to chase after him in the Buffalo zone. He just skated around them and carried the puck up ice most of the time he was pressed. The worst he did was get pinned and eventually chip it over to Tallinder.

I thought he looked pretty good.

He was okay but really what do you expect from a rookie in his first playoff game?

To play like Lidstrom, what else of course?

Those quotes from Bruce Hamiltn are spot on. He was an absolute beast in the playoffs last year. I can't remember when he did it cause I didn't get to really watch the game but I remember one time he got the puck took one look and got all the way into the Boston zone before heaing off. Thats what he did all year last year. He's such a good skater and has such a long reach that he can go one on one with a guy while he's still technically getting by the first forward. Honestly I expect for Myers to get better with each game. Still can't believe this is the same kid that looked clueless on the ice during his draft year. Kid has made major strides in the last year and a half.
