A rare moment in the season comes up. 5 days off.
If a trade is to come, this is the window I expect it to happen.

On to the game review.

Leopold puts it in. Pretty sad that our just signed defenseman is the go to guy. But, kudos to him.

Buffalo's forwards are pathetic. Outside of Vanek, Roy, Ennis there is not one piece of shit worth a shit as far as offensive capicity. Once again, I am calling for the head of Darcy "No Nuts" Regier.

It comes down to this folks, our star goaltender, he's not so stary this season. Its up to the forwards to make a difference, they, sadly, are fucking useless.

Pomminville, Connolly, Hecht, and many more are just fucking pylons on the ice unfortunately.

I pray to the hockey gods that we see some type of movement.
This was a statement game to me, to actually claw our way up towards the NorthEast division lead.
What I saw was a Monkey fucking a football out there.

That is all.

I think Slesh hates Darcy. Not sure tho.

What's worse is not only do they not score, but they will not stand up and be a man when the time comes. Not a single one of those players hits when behind the net or in the corner.

No one is afraid of our purse swinging right now.

I love Ennis, but the kid needs to start going back to playing hockey out there. He's getting too goddamned fancy.

Miller was solid tonight. He wasn't lights out, but he made some great saves look like child's play out there.

Yea Miller made some huge saves. With any other goalie the Habs could have potted 7 or so.

I don't doubt that for one second, but come on man. Our goalie needs more than just defensive zone help.
He needs the fucking forwards to produce a consistent forecheck to help take the pressure off.

Like I said, too many mother fucking pylons on this team.

Oh I agree, I wasn't arguing. The forwards on this team aren't physical enough to keep a constant forecheck.

1.) Waiting for the last period to score when you're trailing is unacceptable. History shows it does not win games.

2.) Mr. Roy, thank you for causing the three goals against us. You, Vanek, and Pominville need to learn to score consistently.

3.) Losing to the Habs, a beatable team, is unacceptable.

I find it historical that Pomminville makes 5 million a season. LOL I mean WHAT were they thinking? He's not a bad player, he certainly adds some talented intangibles to the special teams. Based on his talent alone, he doesn't look like he should be in the NHL let alone making 5 million! Sorry, I've been thinking it for some time now, I keep waiting for him to show up, but the fact that he hasn't yet supports my theory.

While I'm at it I might as well rip Vanek and Myers too. Are these men not supposed to be leaders? If not, then never-mind this mini-rant. If they ARE to be considered leaders then shouldn't they show up with some intensity and maintain it for the whole game? Montador and Roy appear to be dialed in every shift, while Vanek and Myers seem to lose interest. Myers especially, he's got some between the ears work to do if he's ever going to reach his full potential. Montador doesn't have as much talent, and so he doesn't have the pressures and responsibilities of a Myers, but man is he focused. Myers should take notes, Montador is always thinking out there, always a step ahead of everybody else. Myers seems intimidated or just simply aloof, instead of making the BEST routine plays all the time. I'm just talking about the little things, Myers isn't paying attention to the details, because I can tell. Funny thing is Myers gets focused in the third periods and overtimes, but I just never see that same player in the 1st or 2nd periods nearly enough. Vanek just seems to not be a team player, he seems a little bit too self involved with his game. That's not helping the team OR Vanek.

Sekera made a terrible mistake, shit happens. The Sabres actually played pretty good, but I thought they were not focused enough, not mentally sharp.

I don't like the way Ruff plays his #1 in back to back games, especially coming back from injury. Sure the team needs a nice 3 or 4 game winning streak, but I think goalies need the next day off to recover.

Myers and Sekera were terrible. The Sabres need to play smarter, especially with the unnecessary penalties. The 2-on-1...blah.

Uh...at least Leopold ruined Price's shutout.

Monkey's and footballs aside, I have to say, tonights game was one of the few games so far this season where the Sabres really looked completely outplayed and overmatched. The only game worse IMHO was the Dallas game.

It'd be nice if our forwards that are supposed to score could score. Kudos to our defense for being above average this year in scoring. Same story last year, the bottom 6 were scoring a lot and bailing out the top 6.
I agree with Slesh, and many others completely, this team sorely lacks a consistent goal scorer.

Well at least they lost to a team that fully outplayed them then, instead of outplaying them and losing.

Well I'll call you retarded before Jay does. Vanek has shown the willingness to do whatever he has to to help the team. Shoot, pass, kill penalties, take a beating in front of the net, forecheck, backcheck, even block shots.

Being self involved is trying to skate through three guys on a zone entry, we have at least two guys that do this consistently and they both have 9s on their jerseys.

Hysterical, not historical. Holy fail

I think Miller over committed all night and that was a primary reason for his letting in those goals.

The Habs are leading the division are for a reason.

Sabres need consistent scoring, and it could come from Adam if he learned how to pull the trigger. He's getting into position but missing shots.
