It annoys me since we don't need six threads to discuss one topic. We also don't need a new thread every time something new happens or someone comes up with a new "what if". If we hear about TP going to the owners meeting do we start a new thread or could we simply continue the ongoing discussion in the existing thread? Pose your "What do you think will happen" questions in the established area instead of making a bunch of threads that barely differ in content. Just saying.
I couldn't disagree more.
While some threads are redundant, others that are related to the same topic ARE necessary.
Some of these threads that are to do with a big topic, like the rumored sale, become waaaaay too unwieldy in their size and fragmentation. Ever try to discuss a specific angle when there are 10 other people creating unrelated crosstalk? Not fun.
There are many times where I personally don't add to a thread because the thread has become so chaotic and all-over-the-road, that trying to discuss a specific or important angle is near impossible---unless you start a new thread---which may then be nuked or merged with the already gigantic thread because it's similar in content.

PP, I definitely hear what you're saying. I used to be a big proponent of new threads for updated information. Others here, however, don't like it that way, and elected to keep things together.
I wasn't a fan of it at first, but it grew on me. I think it'll grow on you, too.
