So I follow the Pirates on FB and I saw this article linked on their page: Reporter suffers only a bruised ego playing goalie. It's right in the first paragraph...

This is from the Portland Press Herald, so this isn't some schmoe...it's the paper that covers the Pirates. Just excuse the line about legitimate NHL talent :lol:

Doesn't make sense unless someone got moved to IR or sent back to Portland.

With the lineup + scratches from Saturday they're at the 23 man limit already.

The only player I can think of who would be sent down in favor of Mancari is Adam.

They're too thin at center. If anything, they send Gerbe back down and only dress 6 defense instead of 7 like they did vs Boston.

Gerbe had been up so long I forgot about him being demotion fodder. I'd much rather have Mancari than Gerbs.

Can someone drum up Mancari's NHL production vs Gerbe's? Methinks Mancari deserves this slot on numbers alone.

mancari also has a better goals/game ratio, though a sample so small hardly means a think. still, gimme mancari.

I'd much rather have Mancari on size alone, he takes up more of the ice, and he's equally as terrible at defense, if not slightly better than Gerbe...plus he's got an epic mullet

Yea, Mancari is a true believer in the hockey mullet. No one can compare to Ryan Smyth or Teppo, but Mancari tries his damnedest.

It does make me wonder if we are shipping someone out, or close to it though, since nobody has officially been placed on IR, and we technically don't have to have our roster at 23 until tomorrow at game time...
