Something I noticed from last nights game. The Sabres, even while winning, were hungry for more. Even when Atlanta had a little spark, they came right back and put them down. They played the full game, something they haven't done a lot, and it got them an 8-2 win. I hope they can keep that mentality of "never stop moving" into next game.

Another thing is that a lot of the bounces and chances that haven't been getting finished or falling our way did last night...

I feel like i'm seeing a real correlation between time to rest, and putting in a full effort. Having played less than 24 hours ago, i'd not expect to see the same effort tonight. (I hope i'm wrong, but...)

Their finishing or their checks again and the quickness of our players is what we did so well last night, from the first since it's all I saw.

When this team plays with that kind of speed, and that kind of physicality, it's really hard to play against Buffalo.

I think it's been Nathan Gerbe.

He came into this organization and completely changed the culture of the locker room. He keeps things light but he plays a fearless game on the ice.

He's the leader who buried a piece of the puck from the last loss that they had during that 3 game string at home, and inspired them to finish strong and tear up that 7 game road trip.

He makes everyone around him a better player through his shiftiness and his unpredictable play.

He's drawn penalties at key times to help maintain or swing momentum.

Nathan Gerbe is the Sabres' reason for success.

Nathan Gerbe isn't the reason for the Sabre's success. He's not he's not he's not. He has 10 fucking goals and 25 points. He's a hard worker but he isn't Jesus.

He certainly contributes but saying he alone is the reason and giving him that much credit for the success means you have a huge boner in your pants while typing that.

Gerbe is jesus, allah, buddha, and shiva.

Gerbe is the sun, moon, and stars.

Without him, the Sabres are nothing.

Excuse my post, he has 23 points, not 25.

Culture changer? No. Culture doesn't come even close to defining the effect that Gerbe has had on this organization.

Somebody call Webster. We need a new word.

I called Webster. Here it is.

Overrated: Given an undue amount of credit for quality or merit in a field; not necessarily related to popularity

I've got it:

Gerbacity. Of or relating to Gerbacious. Not readily letting go of, giving up, or separated from an object one holds, a position, or a principle.

See: Gerbe's goal last night.

Stats are worthless. They do not reflect the Gerbaciousness that this organization has gained from his presence.

You'd need a Geiger counter to see that; not an NHL stat book.

But if Gerbe was so Gerbacious wouldn't he have more points? He is the holy one, after all.

gerbe was downright useless through 30 games this season. hes played better, and hes begun producing.

he still has a weak shot, bad shot selection, but hes able to get into good scoring positions to allow him to get points. i think gerbes surge is on his line mates as much as him. the whole product is better.

do i see gerbe as a long term solution? no. i think he will be traded this off season, but thats just me. hes proven to be somewhat of an asset. but a game changer? a culture changer? i dont think so.

he doesnt appear to be the whiny bitch/douchebag he used to be, so thats good. we shall see.

The Gerbe, like Jesus, sacrifices his own stats in the interest of those who surround him.

That is Gerbaciousness.
