I saw him get called for the misconducts and ejection with about 3 minutes left, but have no clue what he did. Anyone know the scoop?

From what I saw on TV, he was skating into our zone to get himself in position for a pass on the breakout. Some Panther grabbed his arm and hauled him down, and they gave CLARKE the penalty for interference.

Naturally, he was livid, and when he went to the box, he mouthed off and slammed his stick against the glass.

Thanks! You know, the refs really hammered us with penalties, most borderline. We were shorthanded half of the 1st period and still pounded them! It seemed from my vantage point the refs were desperately trying to even out the mismatch.

Yea, he was grabbed and taken down and somehow MacArthur got the penalty.. I have absolutely no idea how Clarke got the penalty.. He was extremely pissed and whipped his stick at the glass..

So, the question remains: Why was Horton not tossed from the game and given consideration for a one-game suspension, in light of the fact that he instigated a fight with Kaleta, with less than five minutes left in the game, and the Panthers down by more than two goals?

That IS the rule, I believe...

Is there something I'm missing, here?

I didn't see the third but hearing about this makes me think what the fuck are refs thinking sometimes, the refing was horrible the entire game.

I thought the officiating was very one sided the whole game. I'm glad to see other people questioning it.

It was pretty blatant.

All those silly "rules" are for when someone, or some team, that the league adores suffer an infraction. The Sabres should just feel lucky they are allowed to play the games!

Once the Sabres jumped way out on top, the refs (as usual) tried to keep it close. They called everything possible against Buffalo while there was still time for FL to stay in it.

With Horton, they called roughing on both him and Kaleta, not fighting, and an extra roughing and misconduct on Horton. I guess that lets Horton avoid a suspension.

Yeah, as soon as I saw the replay I said to myself, "That's got to be a suspension."

Yeah, I got that impression myself...how many freaking penalties did we get? Like 27? geez

It was almost as if the officials wanted to keep the score from getting any more out of control in The Cats building.

Of course our one goal was a little questionable to.....

Fans never notice when officiating is on their own side, though... Always gotta be a ~conspiracy~. :P (They really don't notice it, though.)

If Kaleta had done what Horton did, the world have ended because everybody would be calling for his head.

Kaleta would have been given the electric chair.

NFL officials are the best in the business, no questions asked. The reason that league is so popular is because it is so well run, though that is starting to change.
