The hype about Myers has been a lot of fun, and very well deserved.

But how about Chris Butler? This kid has been ROCK solid in our own zone.

Amazing how our top 2 defensemen are also 2 of our youngest guys on the team.

Butler is a machine. Totally being overshadowed by Tyler McFranchise, but he's been a damn stud.

Every time a mistake is made by the Sabres I say "The Butler Did It" :o

This is another solid player and PSP is right, the youngens have arrived on this team and it is showing.

now only if sekera could prove he is a beast as well. if not i say give gragnani a chance. you want to free up space for myers. sekera may yield some thing.

I think that this may be our best Sabre defense ever, and next year it promises to only get better with Myers and Butler being a year older, plus Brennan, Gragnani and Weber coming in to replace the departing Tallinder and Lydman.

Strong, strong unit for years to come.

Also, I think Paetsch may have played well enough to pass Sekera on the depth chart.

Sekara doesn't need to be a beast, he just needs to be more offensively productive than he is a defensive hinderance, something he has largely failed to show.

Well, we don't have to worry about Sekera quite yet.

I'd say we never have to worry about Sekera ever again.

Butler had an awkward moment once, just to see what it felt like.

If Shakira was competant in either end; and had a semblance of poise, he would be an adequete defenseman....

...if Chris chose to work on his wrist-shot, and used it from the point, or the top of the circle...he'd be lethal. Fucking lethal.

49 out of 50 slapshots - from any player, on any team - are just so much bullshit.

The wrist-shot, Chris. Develop your wrist-shot.

We've SEEN him be that way though, what the hell happened to it? Hell, I saw a bit of his swagger in the offensive zone last night, not a lot, but a bit. I dont know what dented his confidence, but I hope he gets it figured out soon. For some reason I trust Ruff to handle it. I just hope he doesnt turn into kalinin.

Yeah, those quick get'm through Lidstrom-esque wristers!
We need someone on the team that does those. Lydman isn't bad at them, he just never does them enough. Everyone else takes the big old windup for 3 second slapper or a wild, wide one timer
