As for reporting re-signing your GM, I think that's a little more important than "every little transaction". Look, bottom line is that if TP fires DR right off, then it's gonna look like a golden parachute. You can shrug that off as "another day of business", but I(and many others) are going to have different feelings about certain figure's character and motivations. As for the price being raised 2.5, do you honestly think TP said, ok raise him 2.5, then lower the asking 2.5? Very doubtful. I don't see any way TP is paying for a guy he don't want. If Golly wanted to give DR that money, he could have done it of his own accord.

Edit: I think any bad contract is an issue for fans. Sure, it's a business decision between 2 parties, and we have no bearing, but it is still our concern. I'd much rather use that money on a buyout of a player, or a free agent rather than Dick Jauron. BTW, did you have an opinion on DJ's extension??

Yes, I do. The owner of my company did exactly that when he found out that owners of a company we bought handed out golden parachutes late in the game to execs of a company we bought. Our owner refused to pay those out, so he lowered his offer, and explained why.

It's part of the negotiations. If Pegula knows he doesn't want Regier here, and knows he'd have to buy that deal out, that's factored into his offer.

I didn't like DJ's extension because he was a bad coach, and shouldn't have been extended in the first place in my view. I'd have the same opinion of the Regier extension if there were no pending sales.

But, as PSP said, people are just pissed because Regier is getting money that they think he shouldn't. I think that reasoning is nonsense myself.

If TP doesn't want him, they'll come to a mutual buyout for less than $2.5m. TP could send him home and make him run the deal out, but then Regier couldn't take another job in the interim. If TP wants him out, it will be quick and painless.

he may not be making deals, but somehow, someway, i think darcy is earning his salary. plenty of teams havnt made deals so far this season.

its not like darcy is in south beach, getting hookers with lebron.

In the end, this town is a gentleman's handshake town. One thing we can thank Ralphie boy for. Putting this move under the radar until now was probably a bad idea with these fans.

As for DR, I think many people will look at it from a character issue if he's canned. The money thing dies faster in a fans heart than pride ever will. I'll look at it as someone else's business move. If TP paid for the team, it was included. If you got $4.7b, then what's $2.5m.

Yeah, the sabres.com home page leads me to believe that the presser will be streamed there.

Although I'm looking forward to this press conference, I can't wait until when we hear from the man himself. I really want to hear Pegula's agenda for this team and his projected time frame to making moves, should he decide to do so.

Also, a big thank you to Golisano for stepping in and keeping this team where it belongs; ultimately giving us all something to cheer for, bitch about and believe in.
