A few of thoughts:

1. It's really good to know that the sale won't effect the movement of players at the deadline.

2. I don't understand why Tom said the closing would be 30 days from now, but Larry said that Pegula would be taking control before the trade deadline. I suppose he might have just been referring to the fact that they're going to do what he'd like them to, even though contractually they don't have to.

3. If Tom only missed 6 games in 7 years, he's done a better job than I have... and I even went as far as watching a game on a cruise while in the Caribbean.

4. Great job with the Sabres Foundation. From $13,000 in the bank account, to 2.4 million distributed to the community.

5. Interesting that the winter classic was Quinn's idea.

6. Tom did prove that the team was too concerned with the future to ever make a run for the cup. He kept saying, "Look at these teams that won the cup. They've had to send players away." Big fucking deal. They won the cup. Isn't that the point? You make sacrifices to bring a cup home.

All in all, this ownership group has given us some great years, and some not so good ones. Here's to the future.

lots of respect for tom. also really appreciated the fact he pretty much said if the bills were to truly be at risk for leaving buffalo his interest in saving them would be very high.

whats missing is the 04-05 season. that team, had there been a team, would have been a 6th seed, or there bouts. the 03-04 team really started coming on strong, and you knew what was coming. too bad, too.
