Methinks the people awhile ago that said miller is not in the elite 5 for goal tending in the NHL shall have to feast on ye crow.
This was back on the old board but its still relevant but Damn what a great save by miller.
And new rule for the sabres as well.. every time they score drop your stick like mike grier and really celebrate with the team like he did lol

Miller has turned out to be a superstar, if he plays this good over the next 5 years and we resign him and he keeps going... dangggg.... I always knew he was going to do well... but I have been very impressed with him this season, and What an amazing save.

Miller had made four or five BIG saves, at that point, to keep the Sabres in the game, before the floodgates opened and they ran away with it.

Outstanding "clutch" on the guy. A bona fide difference-maker.

Aye, Icey. I remember RJ making that remark just before that shortie chance, that Miller has to stand on his head in earlier PP's. Lo and behold, the man came up with the biggest of the night.

How many of Brodeur's saves over the last 15 years had some sort of "luck" involved? I bet you a lot.

Half of goaltending is hoping the shooter doesn't pick the exact spot the goalie isn't covering.

A lot of Miller's best saves over the last few years, the shooters could have had MUCH better shots and just roofed the puck and scored.

Doesn't mean he was totally lucky, that is just goaltender reality.

My opinion? We have the best goalie in the league, and this was one of the best saves of the year that LITERALLY won us the game.

If we were down 4-0 coming into the third, I don't think we were coming back.

brodeur is a product of the defensive system lemaire implimented on their 94 and 95 runs.

What Mike said. Just look at last season, when Scott Clemmensen and Kevin Weekes were winning like Brodeur.

Where were all of you two years ago. Seriously. (lol I feel this way about so many things. sigh woe is me hahahaha.)

But, really, Miller used to be put through the ringer for "softies" that were, in reality, shots off screens or tips, as they've always been.

Miller's goaltending has not changed; it has improved, and he is entering his prime as a goaltender, but he has not gone from complete inconsistency and letting in softies left and right to easily top-5, probably top-3, perhaps #1 in the NHL overall in three seasons. It's the perspective on his GA that has changed, and it's silly when it's always been this way, but he's only getting credit for it now, because more and more people are coming around, so those who don't change perspective feel pressured to do so and eventually do. Always said his stats would match his ability with a decent defense in front of him and enough rest throughout the season (i.e. not playing 12-15 games in a row; he did let in a TON of legitimately soft goals when he played too many games a couple seasons back, but I think I proved enough through owning akper that not being rested enough was the cause behind it, with all my layouts of his save percentages in different groupings of games :P that year was such a mess)... Well. They have.

the hasek save of the 98 conference finals is the best ive ever seen.

and does anyone remember millers rookie season? up through 60 games of the season, he had a 2.20 gaa, and a .925 save percentage. benchmarks for elite goaltending in my eyes.

Miller is the goalie we need, and we need him to be the difference maker and so far he is that difference maker.

Miller is an elite goalie, always has and with a decent defense in front of him he is showing what he really is.
