Reality is what you believe to be true. You all believe that Tallinder has "lost it" and is a mere shell of the player he once was. So you've elevated that belief to an almost dogmatic truth that cannot be questioned in your minds. I can understand that.

On the other hand, we're talking about a player who I felt was Buffalo's best player in the years that they've had their greatest success of late. To me, he's shown that he has an ability that probably indicates he has a better understanding of hockey than I or any of you have, and he believes he can return to form.

Since I think he knows more about hockey and himself than I do, I'll defer to what he believes to be true. Sure, it may just be wishful thinking on his part, but who am I to judge on that front? And no offense, but I hope what he believes to be true turns out closer to reality than what most of you believe to be true.

I agree Stuuuu. If Hank really believes he can return to form and is truly driven to then I think he will. On the other hand I just hope he's not talking out of his ass.

Hank was always a pussy. Always. He will always be a pussy. Always. He is now almost 31 and coming off two injury filled, half-assed seasons of terrible hockey. He now claims by being more care-free he'll remedy everything? Bullshit. Cut him. Cut him now.

:liar:

Hank could play physical hockey. He shied away from it after his injuries.

yes, we heard you the first time Ferre, I mean ETC.

Well lets just see if Tallinder backs up his words after the first 10 games. If not, then I'm totally with ya.

Did I mention that Tallinder is a worthless pussy and needs to be cut? Just checking...

Yeah, but Spacho had a good season and Regier did try to re-sign him. Max going into last year was a HUGE lost cause at that point. I think Tallinder has a better chance of rebounding than Max did.

Conditioning.

Want to play better? Conditioning.

Want to get more ice-time, and impact the team's chances? Conditioning.

Want to avoid costly injuries; four years running? Conditioning.

Is conditioning when you ask for more jimmies on your donuts , because that is the condition you like to see them in before you eat them?

Max is hockey tarded.

Tallinder's issues are about timidness more than anything.

He could potentially have a great season.

I thought, in the spirit of new years, it'd be fun to revisit some threads that were posted before this season began to realistically look at how our expectations have changed as this season has progressed.

Most notable to me, was the Henrik Tallinder discussion. He went from being considered the scum of the Sabres, to an important part of a top defensive pairing.

Good for him. I'm glad he did it.

Look through these old posts and get a good laugh, eat some crow, and feel good about what this team has accomplished so far.

Here's to an even more successful 2010 and 2nd half of the NHL season!

Hmmmmm.......

Looks like at least SOMEONE knew that the perceptions on this board tend to take a life of their own that might not exactly jive with objective reality.

it is awesome to see how much Tallinder has turned himself around. I'm happy for him, it's obvious he works hard. I hope he tears it up at the Olympics and continues to tear it up in that Sabres Uniform.
