Yikes!
Hey Timbo, I love Drury, he is just what this team needs. Unfortunately what they don't need is that contract of his.
Callahan, yes please.

Positive. They'd do a much better job than Glen Sather. :D

I's tells ya's, the boy needs wood sticks! None of this comp. shit.

Seriously though, outside of the shootout in recent times, the guy couldn't hit the boards behind the net if his life depended on it, let alone the net. With the exception of driving it right into the goalies crest on his sweater, every time I see him wind up, it's going into the netting above the glass.

Not sure if his contract would be an easy one to unload though. $5mill for his stats would be a tough pill to swallow for any GM out there. Even Slats in the Big Apple wouldn’t take him on, IMO. As senile as he is in recent years

I think if Darcy and company really wanted to get rid of Pominville then it would be quite easy. I also think we could get a good return for him

Didn't Toronto unload Blake and Toskala on Anaheim? Both players are playing boot (Blake tries, but not worth 4 mil) and they still managed to find some sucker that would take their salaries. Yes, Toronto did take Giguere but he's better than Tosks.

All I'm sayin is there are desparate people out there who would take Pominville.

Toskala has an expiring contract.

So it was basically Blake with two more years @ $4M per for Jiggy with another year at $6M per.

Bad deal for Bad deal with Hiller making Jiggy the back up in Disneyland.

P'Ville has 4 more years at $5.3M per.

It won't be impossible to move him. But, it will be really hard and the Sabres are likely going to have to take back someone else's bad contract.

Like Drury for Pominville where the Rangers have the 2 extra years, but at $1.7M per year less.

I know that we would have to take on some garbage contract but my point was we would be able to get rid of him and we would recieve some good talent in return. I'd take Drury.

Pomminville is absolutely tradeable and for good return, the question is, what's the return?

There is a player in mind, but you have to guess who he is.

He's got 366 games played, and hasn't missed a single game in 3 seasons. Iron man player, that can play in any situation. He's got a total of 287 points in those 366 games. Plays any situation, including PK and Power play, only averages .28PIMs a game, and shoots at a career 11.5%

Anybody know who I'm talking about?

haha, yeah, being an "iron man" is only good IF YOU'VE GOT SKILL AND ARENT A FUCKING DETRIMENT TO THE TEAM. Otherwise...it's a bad thing.

I the point is, if you saw a player with those credentials that wasn't named POmminville you'd shit yourself if the Sabres had a chance to get him...I think people are being too over critical of a guy, who more often than not faces either teams top checking line, or 2nd best scoring line.

I've said multiple times I like Pominville. I think out of all the wingers we have, he's got the greatest potential to improve.

I would not call Pominville a detriment.

Minus Macarthur was a detriment. Pominville at least brought and brings sound play.

There are far worse contracts out there (Drury, Gomez, LeCavalier to name a few).

I'm with Vu1gar - JP doesn't do much flashy stuff, but he's a solid hockey player, never gets hurt, and plays competently in all situations. He's a bit overpaid, but he earned it with two years of really good numbers and will likely return to that level at some point.

I have bagged the guy a lot in the past, but I have come to realize he's a quality player who is making a little more than he deserves - which in today's NHL isn't that bad.
