I was hoping the first post was sarcasm.

Myers is doing great. I have absolutely no problem with how he's playing.

I believe someone once said Myers is the most unique NHL talent since Ovechkin. He had a ridiculous offensive night, played good defense, and was a HUGE part of why the team won tonight. Stop complaining. We have one of a kind talent here. The greats are great because they go against the grain and take chances.

OUR ROOKIE DEFENSEMAN HAD A CAREER HIGH 4 POINT NIGHT
and your sitting here bashing him.

Is it possible to please Buffalo fans?
give me a break dude

Before anyone jumps on Stuuu, let's not forget this thread was a good discussion and turned very amicable by the end of the second period or so.

I interpret Stuuu's comments as pertaining to Myers' performance toward the beginning of and after the conclusion of the Olympics. He surely did struggle, and criticism is justified. But tonight we saw a return to Myers' dominating play in all zones, so it's all good.

Haha yea he does. He just kind of does what he's feelin', and usually it works.

You are a defenseman. That means the main point of your job is to keep the other team from scoring, not score yourself. If you want to take a shot from the point, then by all means, have at it. But you are NOT a forward, so you should rarely be behind the opposition's net on the forecheck. The reason why is that it often leads to breakaways for the other team, and it's harder for the forward who's covering for you to defend a breakaway than it is for you.

Your fan,
Stuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

PS. If you're going to join the rush so often, then you damn well better be more effective than you have been to this point.

You shut your filthy mouth!

I want him to keep it up. He was on fire tonight.

Dear Tyler Myers, you had 4 points. Do whatever the hell you want. And deport Chris Butler.

Look, I love the guy. Rebecca said just last night that I was obsessed. But honestly, the guy is joining the rush too much.

It's funny because Ruff wants the defenders to join the rush more, he even said it this year. Last year they did not have enough defenders joining in on the forecheck and around the net.

Also Call Rivet out also, I've seen so many games where he is below the circles where he doesn't belong also.

Yes, for the mistakes we are going to see from Sekera, atleast Sekera comes with an offensive upside from time to time and he skates really well.
Butler on the other hand, I agree CV, its best to ship this problem child out, back down to Portland maybe?

Dear Stuuuuuuu,

http://jimbobsabres.blogspot.com/2010/0 ... oward.html

FYI,

Myers leads all rookie defensemen in goals, assists, points, and average ice time. Myers is also tied with John Tavares for the 2nd most points amongst all rookies (forwards and defense) and leads all rookies in assists.

There is NO WAY that Tyler Myers should change his game.

Well Stuuuuuuuu, not that what you say isn't correct, there just happens to be some upside to this as long as the forwards cover the blueline.

Its just that Myers pops in the zone so quick that the forwards have to be just as quick to cover the open spot left by Myers.

I agree the guy when he gets moving not many players in the league are going to slow him down and that his teammates better cover his point when he rushes the puck. It's not his fault he trying to show the offense how you make shit happen.

06-07 - 34g 68pts
07-08 - 27g 80pts

Is someone who averages just over 30 goals per season over two seasons a "sniper"?

Pominville can be a pretty damn good goal scorer.

If his shots hit the twine and not the breast protector of the goalie or the glass behind the net :D

Pomminville plays a decent two way game but I have to admit he does like hitting the goalie between the breast protector or just flat out missing the net. I like Poms though a bit overpaid but a very reliable player.
