15 years 100 mill is too much imo. The whole reason of a long term contract is to cut down the cap hit.

100 for 15 years is only 6.666667 per year. :D

I would hope that Myers gets a 2 or 3 year deal in the $3 to $4 million per year range and then they give him a Duncan Keith deal:

You have to consider Chelios though.

29 years at $150 million. And free Viagara for every year past 40 played. Gotta keep up with those puck bunnies.

I agree, 100 mil is too much at 15 years. However, 85 mil at 17 years (since he will only be 23 upon his extension) would be the lock at the right price, no? 5 mil flat a season is a mighty carrot and he could settle a family in the area at that contract. Of course, the NTC/NMC in a contract like this would have to be rock solid in favor of Myers and he would have most likely want a trigger in place for bonus's per season. But ya, this would make Myers "the premier" athlete in the Buffalo Sports Market for that duration. You may as well put the "C" on his chest and build his locker room leadership skills.
If I were Tommy G. I would consider this seriously, it shows your committed to building around a franchise player.

I'm game for a 4 or 5 year deal.
He is freakin awesome now, but I'm not sold on the 7+ year deals. He's great but he's no ovie crosby etc. yet

Pants isn't online, so I'll answer for him since I know a bit about it. It is the Invisible Pink Unicorn, a symbol associated solely with atheism (Pants being an atheist, or more specifically an anti-theist).

Here's the link to the website's "About" page: http://www.invisiblepinkunicorn.com/ipu/about.html
