College this, frozen that.

NONE of that means anything when you're talking about MAJOR league quality talent and opponents, particularly in the playoffs. There are always stars at the lower levels who are just plain awful at the higher levels. I'm not saying Gerbe is that bad, but in a physical series against another NHL team, Gerbe will be thrown all over the place like a rag doll. And I have been less than impressed with his puck-handling as of late. Lots of turnovers. Pretty easy to knock him off that puck. Given his size, he's got to be absolutely STELLAR in other areas of play, and he's not.

Gerbe is 5X more hustle than Mancari and Stafford. But we need to watch it, Chara might want to eat him.

Were you expecting some type of miracle where the Sabres announced they were making a call to the Maple Leafs to bring up Phil Kessel on loan or something? Jeez man, get a grip.

Sabres are without 3 top-6 forwards, Vanek, Stafford and Hecht. They already have emergency players in the lineup and if Stafford couldn't go, they still needed another, and that was Gerbe. Most teams out there would be in much worse shape then we are if they had 3 guys from their top 6 out.
