Whoever called the games on WGR during the West Coast swing this year was actually quite good. And I agree with whoever mentioned Hahn (SJ), he's definetly one of my favorites. RJ, Hahn, whoever does the Coyotes, and Jack Edwards are my top 4.

You're right about the guy from Hamilton. I clearly remember him doing a pretty good job. I'm not sure what his name is though.

The Coyotes play by play man is Dave Strader. He's a customer of mine, and a native of my home town.

Great guy. Some people think he's a little dry as a play by play man, but I like his work. He's got good rhythm and he doesn't take breaks from calling to have a conversation about things we don't care about with the color commentator.

I've only ever seen highlights of Gary Thorne, and I love his style. It's so very different from RJ.

I got so sick of Gary Thorne on NHL10 that I turned off the commentary. If we get Gary Thorne in Buffalo I'm pretty sure I'll mute the tv. No offense to him, but hearing him and Bill Clements for hours on end really ruined them for me.

gary thorne also calls MLB2K10. hes good for it, but i love him as a hockey announcer.

Gary Thorne is pretty good. I'd have no problem, but I dread the day when RJ hangs 'em up.

Yes he does. Speaking of guys who have done the video games, Jim Hughson might be a good option, but after working for CBC and TSN he may be too pro-canadian teams. Plus he's top hockey broadcaster at CBC, so he probably wouldn't leave.

i love RJ, but sometimes, i listen to other feeds so i can hear other guys. BUT if someone came to me and said, hey mike, its up to you. do you want RJ to call 82 games, or gary thorne to call 82 sabre games, id pick gary thorne. he reminds me ALOT of ernie harwell.

actually, i had an AWESOME idea. regional announcers. like. ok, maybe like 75 games are called by one duo, then have 7 "nationally televised games" where the production changes and such. different announcers and all.

Imagine the space that would be taken up on each disc recording all of that audio. Not even a Blu-Ray could handle that kind of load.

then just do two crews of announcers. that wouldnt take up that much space. just have some different callers to change things up once in a while to give games a different feel
