I'm pretty sure they aren't going to release their entire plan to the public either. What if they've identified the need for a #1 center, and have a pending UFA targeted? Saying that publicly is just going to drive the price up for that play. Thinking about trading for it? Every other GM in the league now knows what you want, and is going to try and extract more from you in return.

The problem I have with this Squanto is outside of Lombardi and Plakenak I don't see Center's worth a dam.
And I don't believe either one of those guys will be coming here. I left M. from SJ off the list because I know he isn't coming here. The Sharks have already stated its their top priority to get him resigned.

That leaves a trade or 2, and Darcy has a well established reputation on his trade record, he just isn't good at it IMHO.

Don't disagree there. I guess I was more going for the point that Darcy isn't going to broadcast his plans to the media and undermine his position going forward.

totally agree with this... I like the Stability the two of them bring... and I think they work well together... I think Darcy gets a bit of a bad rap... but he does a decent job... a few tweaks and this team will be fine.... will Quinn let him make those tweaks though?

He can draft players but he doesn't know how to sign players... I can't really explain it, but he can't sign FA's or resign people to good deals.

I noticed him in the two games before he was benched, liked his play there. Beyond that, I couldn't tell you if it was Raffi Torres or Clarke MacArthur out there.

Torres was physical, but we have other guys to do that (I think). Lets get two lines of guys to light up the scoreboard like a christmas tree. One like of defensive forwards to shut down crosby and ovechkin and one line of assholes to beat the shit out of anyone that touches any of the first three lines.
