Knowing me, I was probably in the "get him the fuck out" group. But I'm glad he's back to where he's expected to be, and hope he continues to be where he needs to be as far as his contribution to the team goes.

Before we go giving Jochen any trophies, we have to ask ourselves if he would be a legit top 6 on a contending team? He's certainly a two-way player, but his offense leaves A LOT to be desired. I think we all dreamed he'd be an offensive threat a few years back, but now we realize he's probably never going to be. He certainly doesn't hurt a team, and his experience allows him to still create some cheesy offense. I just wonder if he should be claiming a top 6 spot on a team looking to reach for glory? Probably not.

Jochen Hecht is a 3rd line LWer, nothing more nothing less.
To even indicate he truly makes a difference you have to look no further than the banners in HSBC Arena. No Stanley Cup Banner? What I knew, not thought.
Ennis would be the natural fit on the Connolly-Pomminville line given the fact that Regier kept Stafford and Ruff's propensity for attempting the Vanek-Roy-Stafford line.

To put Ennis on a 3rd or 4th line is pure stupidity and a total waste of talent in my humble opinion.

This post smacks of refusing to look at every possibility. No consideration for Ennis-Roy-Vanek?

And yes, Hecht truly does make a difference. The Connolly line and the Sabres' PK were pathetic in the playoffs...what was missing from both? Jochen Hecht.

Hecht is better than a 3rd line LW.

Hecht's point production (ppg basis) would have him in the top six of everyone but Anaheim, Colorado, Montreal, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Vancouver, and Washington. Six of those teams outscored the Sabres (Montreal) in the regular season so it isn't even an equal comparison.

So he's getting top 6 points on 23/30 teams. Hardly "nothing more than a third line LW."

And that's only considering the offensive side of his game, which as we all know, is not Hecht's strength.

Alex Ovechkin makes no difference on the Capitals then too, NO STANLEY CUP BANNERS either with AO on their team.

Using your so called logic, he doesn't deserve to be on their team since he hasn't brought them glory yet.

Hecht is just what we ask of for a player not known for offense, be awesome on the PK and chip in around 50 points a year, he's not a first liner, but he is a second liner and helps make the Connolly and Pominville line a pretty good defensive line.

Hecht isn't a Center and he shouldn't be, leave that line alone, and put Ennis with Roy and Vanek on the Wing. It may be a bit small with Roy and Ennis, but we have plenty of size elsewhere on the team when we need it.

Skyline explained why he had a different position.

The comment was not stupid, it was simply his opinion. It's neither right or wrong.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if you happen to disagree with it. If someone wants to use championship banners as their metric to evaluate a player, they can do that. You may not do that, and I may not do that, but that doesn't matter.

All opinions will be respected. Period. No opinions are to be called 'stupid' .

Even people whose opinions are that opinions should be called stupid?

He can call that logic BS as much as he wants as long as he isn't insulting the poster himself, isn't that the rule?
