Gerbe is going to score real soon if he keeps playing like this. Good to see it out of him, because he has the tools to be a good goal scorer in this league.

I thought Adam played a good game. He's going to be a very good NHL player. That's a fantastic draft pick by the Sabres. He's great at shielding, he can play the body, he's got good hands... I expect big things for this kid.

How about Stuart coming in and giving us this spark? That guy can fly. He's all over the ice.

Kaleta, that's what we need out of you. I also think, however, that Lindy told him before the game that he had a little bit more slack to make hits and get out of position... and it's a good thing. I think Kaleta has to be used in that way to get his game going, as well as the rest of the team's.

Weber is awesome. Our blue line is looking better and better.

Vanek, much improved game. Don't let it slip.

Tim Connolly... stay where you are.

Agreed PSP.
Except for Connolly. I don't want him to stay where he is, I want him out of Buffalo all together, and he can take Staff Infection and Butler with him. :)

Ehhh... Not quite on Butler.

He's the type of player that can jump in and give us solid minutes if our defense gets banged up. All you have to do is look back at 2006 to know you can't have enough defensemen. :?

During the flag pass, Leafs fans tried to rip it and then crumpled it up. Following the game, in Sec 308, a bunch of sore loser Leafs fans nearly started a riot by throwing beer on everyone.

Indeed. Why waste good beer on your enemies when you can fill your belly with it?

As far as I'm concerned, I'd welcome Stafford into the 2nd line LW position alongside Pominville and Connolly or Adam when he comes back. It would give the top six a scoring spark and move Hecht down to 3rd line LW where he belongs. Adam looked much improved last night - he learns quickly. If Weber can continue to play as he did last night (he was a physical beast), I don't see Rivet getting any ice time.

Good insight from both you and PSP, Phil.

I guess the question I have after reading this is do you fully expect Connolly to stay on the roster? Atleast until the team gets a better feel for the playoff picture?
If thats the case, I am more depressed now then ever.

gerbes getting his chances, and hes working hard... at some point though you gotta wonder whether or not he simply has the skill to bury them.

I expect that Darcy will try and move Connolly at the deadline. There's no chance in hell that he tried to extend him again. He'll be moved for a pick or a a pending UFA.

Then, the Darcy Haters Club will come out. Half of them will complain that they didn't get enough for him. The other half will complain that Connolly could have been a good producing player in the playoffs.

I don't know why people are on Ennis. He seemed okay. Yeah, he's being pretty, but I think he's trying to see what he can get away with. Best passer on the team, IMO, and he makes chances. He's doing fine.

As the self annointed president of that club I can assure you, Connolly's eventual departure from this team will not be a complaint, against Darcy or any other for that matter.
If anything, the main complaint has been and correctly so, the re-signing of Connolly for 2 seasons at 4.5 mil a season instead of trading him at that deadline. And, conversly, since they did keep him and he went on to score 65 points last season, he was prime trade material at the deadline this past deadline.

Couldn't resist this.
Just haten the way I hate, and all over Darcy. :D

He's got the skill to bury him. Watch his highlights from College or Portland. He knows where to put the puck.

Where Gerbe has struggled thus far in the NHL is getting himself into those positions you need to be in to score in the NHL.

Now that he's starting to get there, the goals will follow.

I'm really big on this kid to PSP.
He works his ass off every game, but sadly is saddled with Goose most every shift.
I watched him race into the offensive zone on atleast 3 seperate occasions down the left wing and actually had to wait for his linemates to catch up and get into the zone (cement feet linemates).
Goose and Grier are a literal nightmare to play with if your a young, speedy winger. Just ask Gerbe.
