What a royal fucking jackass Darcy is. A statement like that is the absolute last thing I want to hear from the general manager of a professional sports club when their leading point getter and the one guy who shows up consistently on a nightly basis goes down for the rest of the season. WHAT. THE. FUCK. Throw this prick out on the street and get someone in here that wants to win and is willing to do what it takes to get this team to the fucking playoffs.

All debate aside as to if Darcy is a good or bad GM, I have never felt that he actually gives a shit. Maybe he does but man he gives off an odd mix of stupidity and apathy sometimes.

First, making the playoffs is a pipe dream and nobody in the front office should be bothering with the lame rah-rah talk by now. Second, I guess I know what Darcy meant, but "fun" is about the oddest way to characterize the predicament they are in right now. It's really just a propaganda version of saying, "we're going to sit on our tight wad hands and let the AHL guys get playing time".

I'm actually fine with that in this instance. I would never want to see Ruff or the players trying to lose on purpose, but with a season so unpromising they may as well get a top five pick (if anyone there can actually cash in with a good selection).

They need a 5-7 game winning streak just to get back into contention for a playoff spot. Teams like Atlanta and Tamp Bay are hungrier than Buffalo, and teams like New York and Montreal are getting better goal-tending. Nobody is going to roll over so the Sabres can get it.

I hate losing, but here is life in the NHL...

Is the glass half full or half empty? It's neither. It's simply half a glass of water. You have to empty your glass completely before you can fill it to the brim.

Do you want a full glass of water? Then stop fucking around with half a glass.

Still don't see Atlanta making the playoffs.

I thought the Rags would be in last place right now, but they have skated their balls off every time I've watched them play this season. They deserve their position in the standings, and I'm done waiting for them to implode. The Thrashers have got some character guys and enough of a cocky/naive attitude to fuel them into the playoffs. They simply don't know any better, and their coach would appear to know how to push those buttons correctly.

I'm surprised by both of those teams, but having seen them play I don't think they are going to give up their playoff spots.

Boston, Montreal, Atlanta, or NYR would have to completely tank in the second half and Buffalo would have to go something like 25-17-5 for them to make the playoffs. So yeah, that's pretty bleak.

Can't Ennis play center?

Yeah, if these are actually the lines going forward, I'd say we've got a pretty decent chance at a very high draft pick,

and to be fair, I'd consider that "fun"...

I would want anyone but the Kitchener guy

Pavelec is having an All-Star season, they've got the best offensive d-man in the league right now, and much of their forward corps are starting to click finally. Unless all of this falls apart at the seams, Atlanta is at least seeing a playoff berth. Dealing Kovalchuk, picking up some good players from Chicago and having their young talent finally reaching a good level all at the same time has made them a much better team than a year ago.

I just don't think they're that talented.

They don't really have any top name talent, but they can roll some very balanced lines that each have a threat of scoring. Can't shut down 3-4 lines at once.

You can't! Because....uhhhh...the existing water is tainted and stale...and dusty....and....ummm...no. You have to dump it out and run the glass through the dishwasher once or twice. And THEN you may fill it to the brim!

Didn't you see the Sign? If you leave a bunch os half full glasses laying around eventually the haunting memories of a dead women will speak through a preacher who has lost his faith telling a once promising minor league baseball player to hit the glasses and the half full contents will splash on an alien that will get burned and then the will rush the asma kid outside for air. So...if you had FULL fresh glasses of water the aline would have been tooo freaked out and paranoid and would have chosen another asthma kid to take hostage in another house.

They don't have to be. They have points position, and with all the 3 point games out there, they don't have to win games to keep their spot. They just have to keep collecting the loser points, and win from time to time.

They've gone to OT 12 times this year, 5 ended up in a shootout. They're feasting on loser points.

Doesn't that mean the team sucks? We had this discussion, right? :P
