I agree, trading Roy only makes sense if they draft or trade for another center that is a no-brainer top line producer.

Wouldn't mind seeing them trade Leopold and the 11 pick to the oilers for the top 5 pick. The oilers get the solid veteran dman they need and we can draft the top center we need. Then you can trade Roy to replace Leopold if you aren't comfortable with mcnabb being ready

leopold isnt going to move them into the top 5.

11th pick/roy/2nd might get you in the top 5.

Roy isn't in the future top 6 center core anymore on this team(get what ya can for him). That's Ennis and Coho(Adam). You don't trade the chance of a Foligno- Kassian duo away just to keep coho or Ennis on the 3rd line, while Roy sucks a fatty on the top 6. That's old skool Lindy thinking, which is hopefully done. If we traded Zack so we could watch Coho rot on the 3rd line way worse than he would have in VAN, so Roy can get another shot would be fuktarded, and I may lose my sanity to boot.

Leopold and Regehr can be a good/great 3-4 pair. Mcanabb will have a spot replacing Weber or Sekera.

Irony is right, JL doesn't vault you anywhere in the 1st round, and he's too valuable to waive or take a crap pick for.

There's 4, maybe 5 good picks at this time. I wouldn't trade much to move to 5 or 6, and would be careful spending too many resources on a 3 or 4. If I liked a guy left at 4, and could move up, I'd do it at a decent rate, but nothing else. It all depends on how guys fall, too.

You guys are probably right on JL but would Roy,JL, 11 and a second be enough to get the top 5 and someone like eager?

It would all depend on how players fall, and what the team on the clock's needs are.

Our best hope may be with Anaheim or Minny to trade up.
