Ok, listened to the presser 3 times, and I am fairly fluent in Darcy speak, let me help translate.

1. Regier did this, because he doesn't like having a full roster, and wants to have the luxury of calling up minor players, rather than being forced to skate a player out of role.

2. He had no real intention of trying to keep Kennedy for much longer with the players in the system anyway. Kennedy was a nice stop gap until another skill player such as Adam, Legace, or Kassian is ready anyway.

3. Regier wants Ennis on the roster full time next year, and Kennedy would have made that a far more difficult decision

4. Regier is still talking in the trade market, but it will have to be a damn near even money trade as Quinn's development business is having a down year, and he needs to make a gain on another investment to invest back into his land development.

4a. Regier thinks Management's budget is bullshit, and he's currently hand cuffed by it.

5. They got Morissonn on a steal, and Regier feels happy about this.

6. He likes Tim Kennedy the person, but doesn't think he's a good fit for the club

My take is pretty much just like Jay's and others...
Like almost everybody else, I was a little miffed by the TK situation today. But after reading almost everything here from today and taking a step back, I'm okay with it.

As a few people said earlier today, maybe this isn't about the cap. Maybe it's about roster spots. Ennis is better than TK. That's why mgmt wanted TK on a 2-way contract, for more flexibilty regarding roster spots. Along those same lines, we now have more flexibility to bring up Adam for a look whenever we feel like it (let alone when he's truly needed for injuries).

And here's the easy part. Maybe mgmt is lying. Lying about this self-imposed cap, and only filling 22 spots. The fact of the matter is this leaves us in position to make one big acquisition (gotta be a versatile center IMHO), and not have to rush into it and overpay.

Time will tell.

I started at page one, and got sick of bs by page 10, so I'll just give you my take on all this(cuz I missed a couple days, and I hope I know all the details). We should have Tim Kennedy, and we should not have Rob Neidermayer. If budget is the issue, then why are you pursuing an old guy that the Devils over-played last year, when you intend to eat money and cap to give up on a good prospect. I've seen a few posts where people are trying to minimize Kennedy, but there has been no indication that his stint should be over before other player's stints have.

On Morrison, good pick-up. Good deal.

As for it being Quinn/Regier's fault, it lies in the lap of D.R. He is given a budget to work with, and it's his job to produce with it.

On the last note, why does D.R. have to smack his lips so hard before he talks that he sounds like he's kissing someone.
