Looked to me like the first one wasn't a headbutt at all, he simply put his head down and skated right into Zajac, bull rushed him. Zajac stood his ground, then cam the head butt to the side of his face and Zajac again defended himself and Kaleta was already on his way down before the desired reaction took place.

It's an acquired talent, Kaleta truly is a world class agitator. He even has entertaining facial expressions in the penalty box. Dude, he's destined to become a legend. You can cover up for him all you like, or just embrace the madness and appreciate the method behind it. Like me. :)

umm yeah it was. that's what agitators do, they agitate. he's a good one. if that's not your cup of tea then fine, but it goes with the role they play. I only like the ones on my team.

Like I mentioned earlier, you can be an effective agitator without the bush league plays and being dirty.

Nope, you really can't be. All the good ones cross the line sometimes.

Haha come on, that's brilliant. Even if you could be a good agitator without dirty plays, why would you?

It didn't seem like a big deal, but if he does it again harder THEN it's something.

What really pisses me off about that whole situation is that,

A. Kaleta delivered a clean body check on the Devil, then 3 other Devils jump him. What ever happened to hockey being a full contact sport, and if you get hit cleanly, you get the fuck up and deal with it?

B. Kaleta headbutting someone is bush league, end of story.

C. Why with your history of neck injury are you using your head as a weapon, you dumb shit.

D. Why on earth is this even being compared to the hit the other night? Two completely different circumstances. I equate this to the Rutuu biting incident, not a clear intent to injure incident. It's just childish and cowardly. Can't do a whole lot of damage with your head when you headbutt someone wearing a helmet with a visor.

That's actually a very good point

I'll agree fully.

Honestly, I thought it was super hilarious what he did.

He missed with it anyway calm down with it. kaleta is a tweener guy like all agitators sometimes they can get a lil bit on the dirty side it happens.. he isnt Ovie dirty though.. lets kill dozer your head.. or clip you knee.. or push you from the back into the boards killing your ribs and shoulder.. or cross check you from behind while you are leaving on a line change.. If he had knocked him out with it then fuck yeah suspension but for something that turned out to basically look funny and didnt cause any harm then whats the point of even fretting over it. We need to win. Thats the main story.

I think the issue here, 88, is the action itself. Sure, there was no harm on the play, but the action is what needs to be addressed. It could have been very ugly. Pattymouth doesn't need to play like that to be effective on the ice. He can run his mouth with the best of them in the league, if he wants to get under someone's skin. He's a better player than resorting to a move that is very Ruutu-esque.

To be honest, I don't find fighting or agitating in hockey to be very entertaining, no more than watching WWE wrestling, which I also find boring. So I generally don't look to guys like Kaleta, Carcillo, LaRoque, etc. with much appreciation. Never have. The fact that fighting is still tolerated does not help the NHL in the big picture.

That being said....

Thanks to Kaleta, whenver I see Dominic Moore, I always think: "Fuckin' geek".

Yeah, because people nowadays really hate fighting and LOVE non violence.

I thought it was a bit dirty, especially since Kaleta already had Zajac torqued without resorting to that.

I noticed that same thing that he tried to head butt Zajac and missed. Total bonehead move. If I were Kaleta I would be bulking up big time and working on my fighting skills because someone is going to beat the shit out of this guy. He is probably among the top hated players in the league by other teams.

Patty doesn't care. He knows he's a punching bag.

If your gonna be a fierce hitter you better be able to protect yourself. He takes alot of runs at guys and I just think it's crazy that this guy is a mediocre fighter at best. He should be taking fighting lessons from Rob Ray only problem is the jersey can't come off like it did for Ray all those years.

Kaleta can fight just fine. He took on Hanzal last year against Phoenix and Hanzal has him by about twenty pounds if I remember right.

He really didn't do much with the fight against Hanzal but here is Pat vs Steve Ott. When Pat wants to fight, he does well.

Apparently he was issued a fine for his actions...
