But even with these many offensive explosions, haven't most of the games been decided by one goal, to be honest, wouldn't a one goal game technically be a defensive battle even with 7 or 8 goals scored with both teams?

That doesn't make any sense.

You're saying that irrespective to the score, as long as it's a 1-goal, then it still qualifies as defense intensive? Huh? So if the final score is 20-19, we can assume it was quite the defensive battle! :D

When there is an intensive defensive game, one or both teams has essentially SHUT DOWN the other team offensively. You know: 1-0 in OT, 1-0 in reg, 2-1, maybe even 3-2 if you're playing a particularly high-octane offense, ie; the Caps. Hard to make that argument when both teams together are potting goals approaching or passing the double digit mark.

If anything, the playoffs are a grind. That's what it is.

This validates no points whatsoever. I am simply stating that a team will dig deep, either offensively or defensively, to win games. San Jose proved this tonight by holding off a 6-on-4 for Detroit. Jaroslav Halak proved this when he decided to be amazing for the Canadiens against Washington, and now against Pittsburgh.

In the playoffs, it truly is which team wants it more.

It really is the regualr season on steroids.

While defense may be more intense, it's only because offense is more intense, as is goaltending.

True, but don't hold me to anything I said tonight, I'm inebriated, far past what I should be. :D

As I said in the GDT, the call on Rivet was horseshit. The Bruins player was holding onto Rivet's stick like it was the last fucking raft on the Titanic.
