Roy has the best contract in moveability, he makes 4 MILLION Dollars and can put up 70+ points.

Roy does no have a bad or horrible contract at all. Roy has one o the best in the league in regards to production value.

That was kind of the point. Roy's contract is a good contract. The Sabres are getting a good return for Roy. I wasn't attempting to imply is was a bad contract and not tradable. I don't care if its Connolly or Roy, but Keeping Connolly, who is older and not under contract as long doesn't seem to make sense.

LOL yeah. Roy with 4 million isn't bad but it isn't good. Let's keep in mind he screws up a lot.

Hah, my bad. I read what you wrote wrong. I thought you were saying Roy couldn't be moved because of his contract being bad, woops.

I still think Roy is a very good player only problem is he needs to shoot the puck more instead of dangling with the puck so much. I would not trade him right now he's our best playmaker. The other thing people Roy is a second line center playing against teams first liners who are bigger, stronger and taller.

You don't want to trade him when he screws up, otherwise the other team has you by the balls when you make the trade.

I agree. I think if Buffalo can get a another first line player to play with Vanek I think Roy will be more effective.

Sorry buddy, Roy is NOT our best playmaker. In fact, if you were to list all of this team's playmakers, he probably doesn't make the top 5. Roy's biggest issue is not him needing to shoot more. His issue is he plays however the fuck he wants to with ZERO regard for his linemates, the system or gameplan. Get him the hell outta Buffalo....Connolly too.

I guess me and Timbo are the only ones who want Hank over Loods. I guess we'll see who was right when we see how much each guy is going to command in the open market. Sure, you can say Hank/Toni will get more for this/that reason, but I'll assume that whoever gets more money would be considered to be the better player(in the eyes of the GM's at least).

As for Ruff(and Regier/Quinn), we've already stated our cases, and we know there's cronyism in this organization. We're getting what we expected. Let's hope they're smart enough to scapegoat someone, and get an assistant to coach special teams. Obviously Ruff, nor anyone else behind that bench can coach a PP.

Tallinder will get overpaid because GMs will underestimate the effect that the contract year & playing with Myers had on Hank.

He'll be the most overpaid Sabres UFA this summer. Bank on it.

I'm not saying Hank is a beast by any stretch of the imagination, but I think that playing with Myers truly woke him up and challenged him mentally. He's hustling and using his talents now. I'm not expecting him to dog out unless he's poorly paired up. Also, these guys chemistry may be the catalyst that is making them both good. I'd hate to find out if that was the case the hard way.

On the other hand, we also though Hank and Toni complimented each other at one time.

"Nice dick" isn't really the compliment we were talking about...

My kneegrows to say Roy isn't a top 5 playmaker on our team is idiotic. I understand u were probably exaggerating but at 4 mill Dereke Roy is a fucking bargain. Lets not forget this guy was an invitee to the Canadian Olympic team. Thats the top 46 canadian players and Roy was among them. Add in the fact that he has a very reasonable salary for a 1b center and you gotta think that we can get a nice package for the guy. Yes he has his mistakes but even Sidney Crosby the best player in the league makes mistakes and gets frustrated. Lets not underestimate what value Roy has because of a couple of turnovers. Look at the positives. He's a great 2 way center that will pick up 60-80 points a season. We can easily pick up a good prospect and a first for him at the draft.

I don't think Roy is the problem, more Connolly.

Roy at least tries to put the puck somewhere after a while. Connolly does more of an Afinogenov and tries to weave the puck everywhere, not knowing where any of his teammates are. You just sit there and you want to say: "Shoot the God damn puck! Or just pass it!" If he would pass it or shoot it, I would be fine with Connolly, but he continues to sit there a dangle with it.

ive got to disagree, Connolly has the best hands on our team and im sure he is looking for a pass or shot but not seeing anything. frankly, we yell "shoot the damn puck" or "pass it" with every player on this team.

would you rather have him take a wild shot or make a blind pass, turn it over and give the other team an odd man rush?

He turns it over dangling when he HAS a good pass or shot. OR if he has no options, dump the puck in. It's called PUCK HOGGING. But he's not skilled enough for that.

He was at one point, but he may have forgotten how to do it, what with the concussions and such.

I've seen Roy try and fail to skate through three members of the other team enough to be sick of him.

Derek Roy is a 7-17 player in 40 playoff games. Not really what you want to see out of him.
Connolly is slightly better at 5-16-21 in 30 playoff games.

So Connolly is the new Max??

Maybe he just doesn't fit in Lindy's "system"? Maybe we ship him out, and his good hands suddenly "reappear"??

...just a thought. Hate to see this dude dangling around in the ECF next year, ala Danny Briere.
