Fuck you, Darcy Regier, fuck you. Ya know I was in his corner all summer, he made some solid pickups, got Patty K signed before arbitration, and seemed to accept Kennedy's deal. What an asshole. Kennedy earned his roster spot and 1 mil, in my opinion and now Darcy is being a penny pinching fuckhead.

Yeah, if this is penny pinching, I doubt very much that this came down to a decision by Regier. This (giving up on a young player) could make sense if it were Stafford, Sekera, or Butler...but not Kennedy. None of this makes sense unless there was some hard feelings or comments made during the arbitration hearing, and Golisano decided, "Oh yeah, how about that!".

I really hope there is some sort of good/logical explanation for this move because it really just doesn't seemt to make any sense. The kid was awarded a mil and plays on the third line. Gaustad makes 2.5 a season and is a goddamn 4th liner.....holy confusion Batman

Yeah, not to mention Kennedy is young. I know we hate to use the p-word, but it's not hard to believe that Kennedy had the potential to put up more points than that $1M is worth while still under that contract.

So Darcy is refusing to comment on this until the waiver period expires tomorrow. Says to me that it's legit. If he isn't the force behind this, he better throw Quinn or Goli right under the bus.

So basically, the only logical explanation at this point would be Darcy did this out of spite.

They're not saving a lot of money and they don't really need to.
If plain unwanted, TK's value would be better realized in a trade of some sort.
Being forced to sign him and then immediately waiving him is the ultimate F.U. thrown in the general direction of the arbitrator and TK.

by 6pm tonight he'll be claimed by Toronto. i'm real disappointed by DR right now. there's no reason for this move. the sabres got the better end of the deal in arbitration. and waive / buyout stafford, not a kid who's still growing and has potential.
