Not to mention he can hit, play D, blocks shots, and is gritty.

we sure could have used a guy like him on the PK in that Boston series.

And refs with capable eye sight.

That play and the Recchi interference on Kennedy will take some time to get over.

I've gotten past both. Neither one cost the team a game, and some inspired play by the guys who make the big money would have overcome those plays.

Morrison is the type of D man that I like. Not flashy but he'll do all the shit work and you don't need to worry about him making as many awful plays as Sekera. I like whoever referenced him being a younger, slightly better version of Jay McKee and Im completely fine with that, but this recent activity does raise the "is something big coming" alarm I think. These were two moves nobody really anticipated, I never thought we'd sign another NHL D man or waive Kennedy and I have to admit it does have the feeling of something else happening.

I probably should be ashamed of the erection that gave me. But I'm not.

And it adds some grit to go with Montador...just as long as Morrisonn doesn't blow a tire that results in a game winning goal for the other team

Yeah but shit like that happens to everyone at some point. Unfortunately it happens at bigger times for some people so its get hyped up and blown out of proportion. To tell you the truth, Darcy gets shit on alot around these parts, some of it warranted, some of it not. I don't think he gets enough credit for some of the good moves he makes, even though they're not flashy or blockbuster. Getting Montador for 2 years at 1.55 and Morrison at 2 for 1.75 is a fuckin hell of a deal of you ask me. You're esentially getting to steady, veteran defenders with some nasty for just over $3 million combined and the Pens just shelled out $25 million at 5 mil a season for Paul Martin whos goal career goal totals are 6, 5, 5, 5, 3, 2. Some teams overpay for mediocre d-men. Darcy underpays for underrated defensemen.

That Recchi interference was on the assist that set up the GWG.

I wonder what the pairings will be. I wouldn't mind seeing Shaone with Rivet on the ice a lot with Nieds/Grier as a shutdown grouping.

I would be 100% ok with that because it means no Sekera and it matches strengths and (relative) weaknesses to a T. Im actually pretty happy with that D believe it or not. I think Leopold and Morrison are respectable, cheaper alternatives then what it would cost to keep Loods and Hank
