I would say the Caps game was a good response, but I think the Capitals have a lot more problems with Bruce Boudreau than the Sabres do with Lindy Ruff.

I think both coaches have very similar issues, lacking the ability to inspire and motivate their seasoned vets/stars. Bruce's are just appear larger because of Ovechkin.

The Caps have a ton more offensive talent than the Sabres do. I think the Sabres were the beneficiary of a bunch of hungry rookies.

If you actually think about it, if a team went an won every other game for an entire year they would finish with 41 wins, which is 82 points, yes that wouldn't get you into the playoffs alone, but count and factor in at least 15+ OT games and you have 97 points, which would get you into the playoffs.

Theoretically, this trend would be perfectly fine.

Of course we don't want to see that happen at all.

I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing when the fans think the Sabres are playing shitty yet we're 3 points from #1 in division... Imagine what happens when the fans think the Sabres are playing well... Will games have to go 10-3 for this feeling to happen though?

The Sabres may be 7th in the conference but look who they have played against conference-wise. They lost both so far against Boston, lost their only game against Philly, won against Penguins (without Crosby), and haven't played The Rags or Toronto. ALL of those teams are ahead of the Sabres in the standings and are playing well. That's why I'm not overly impressed with the Sabres current standings. I'm going on on-ice performance.
