Ferret isn't that bad a guy. He'll freely admit that he will go over the top with his comments just to piss people off from time to time though, and that rubs a lot of people the wrong way.

HockeyTruth is a member that has been banned more times than I can think of. He was around in one for or another before I became a mod, and banned many times back then. He always came back though, usually with 3 or 4 usernames in the same day. He doesn't have terrible hockey opinions, he just resorts to insulting people (and quickly) if they have an opinion that doesn't mesh with his. That's something that wasn't tolerated on the old boards, and part of the reason he was banned all the time.

Since he's been back on the current incarnation of the official boards, he's been on his usual tear of insults and belittling. Since there are no mods to do anything about it, he keeps it up pretty good. (Although it's funny, Scott Miner emailed me back in June and said he was going to ban him again. Guess he never got around to it. ) It's actually kind of sad, because he also has some good observations on the game. It's just tough to see them through his insults and such.

Since his name came up here, I'm sure he'll go off on another rant about how everyone on SJ is a bunch of pedophiles and left wing perverts. Typical stuff from a degenerate Niagara Falls gambler. (Which he is.)

That's the thing about Ferret. If he toned down being an insulting asshole, he'd be one of my favorite guys to talk hockey with. While the Amerks were still the Sabres' affiliate, Ferret was indispensable as the message boards' authority on the prospects.

Ferret hasnt been bad on the forums as of late with the insults. Its HT i cant stand, in his own mind he is never wrong about anything no matter what. And he immediately resorts to verbally abusing the person on the other end from him without any provocation, and then when you call him out on it he immediately blamed it on you guys over here at SJ, who all in all are not bad people at all.
So basically even if you have no tie to you guys, like me up until this point, hes just a bitter old asshole to you because you think a different way than him. For example he was going off on me the past few days about how i posted the Sabres are the most improved in the division. The guys a douche and even if he is wrong he'll still tell you hes right and call you a moron, idiot, delusional, etc.
Basically he's an idiot and completely unreasonable so i think im here to stay.

Half this thread is about how a lot of people think Stempniak is no better than Stafford. Its not a fair comparison. Stafford is all potential at this point (much like Afinagenov) where as Stempniak is proven he can be a consistent point producer (like Crosby has).

Now don't go and start quoting that I said Stempniak is as good as Crosby...all I'm saying is that they've both proved they can score in the NHL.

While your analogy concerns me a little bit, this is why i want Stempniak, he scores goals. Even though we're over our projected budget like Darcy says we pretty much go over it every year, and Tommy G doesnt care as long as the money he's spending is in the NHL not the AHL. So basically yea like some other people have said they prolly would have to trade a guy like Stafford, Hecht, or maybe even Grier to find a spot on the team for Stemps

I think that literally may be the first time in his NHL career that Lee Stempniak was referred to as "consistent." We are talking about the same Lee Stempniak correct?

Well he may not be all that consistant but he has two 25+ goal seasons under his belt, thats more than what Stafford can say.
