Alright... I don't know what to feel about this signing.

We'll know what to feel once we see the numbers, for sure.

He hasn't signed a deal yet, they've just agreed on one.

TSN.CA says he inked the deal and he DID sign it. Story is there.

Goose has got to be feeling threatened right now. Hecht/Nieds/Grier and McCormick/Goose/Kaleta?

Ruff likes to play line roulette, so I'm expecting both Gaustad & Nieds to get 4th line time along with both of them playing on the 3rd line with Grier at times.

Nieds can play on the wing along with playing center. Nieds-Gaustad-Grier or Gaustad-Nieds-Grier might be the best shutdown 3rd line combo the Sabres have if Hecht plays with Connolly & Pominville a lot.

That's what I'm thinking, but at this point, it feels like Ennis is gonna take the top line spot with Vanek and Roy. Also, this leaves no room for Kennedy or Gerbe - at all. Neither one of those guys are fourth line material.

Ennis-Roy-Vanek (or, wishful thinking, either Gagne-Roy-Vanek or Vanek-Roy-Guerin)
Hecht-Connolly-Pominville
Nieds-Goose-Grier
?????-McCormick-Kaleta (or McCormick-?????-Kaleta)

It will be interesting to see if Regier packages Stafford and Gerbe or Kennedy together to try and get a top 6 forward from a team that needs to shed payroll.

Gagne and Clowe are a couple of guy that might fit that have been rumored to be on the block.

The question is whether that package is of interest to teams or not.......

It would surprise me if Regier did that. But, I would be pleasantly surprised!

There has to be a trade coming, why else would they pack the roster so Kennedy and Gerbe are essentially locked out?
