What do all of you guys think of the hit, from where i was sitting at the game, the hit seemed more from the side and pat just fell face first into the wall and some blood made it seem a little worse. What did it look like on tv or the replays? do you guys think it was dirty?

For those who didn't get to see the hit

Pat turned to chip the puck away from the boards. He may not have been perfectly square to Ovie but I think it was a good call since the angle Ovie hit Pat force him into the boards square. I don't see the NHL do anything other than the game misconduct.

Ovechkins' reaction to the hit.

I thought the hit was clean... Patty saw him coming but he turned to make the pretty pass.. He put himself in the position even though he saw Ovie coming.

Speaking of the PP; who were the people calling for The Sabres to sign MA Bergeron to help out on PP's? He had two goals the other night. I can't remember the last time a Buffalo defenseman had two goals in a game. I can't remember the last time anyone scored, actually.......

I wanted Bergeron pretty badly. I can see why we didn't go after him, but having him instead of Sekera would be so much better....

When will the NHL suspend OV. Maybe he doesnt deserve it for this one but he has had multiple incidents where a suspension could have been handed down and they always say well he's not a repeat offender. He's not a repeat offender cause you fucks never suspend him. I cant believe people like this cheapshot douchebag more than Crosby.

Ha. That's exactly what I have been thinking.

The NHL puts money and marketing before it will do the right thing.

Does OV ever hit guys face to face or what? The guy is a fucking coward. I can't wait to see someone like Chara fill him in.

I know its hard to believe. All OV does is hit guys cheaply and go overboard when celebrating a goal.

Yeah the memories but look at OV there, he took what like 10 strides to try and hit him? That's charging to me.

Is that ALL he does? Really?

Ovechkin is the most dynamic player on the ice. Criticize him all you want, but all you have to do is watch the plentiful highlight reels---and even listen to Lindy Ruff when he talks about him; He practically gushes! He didn't even criticize the Kaleta hit, but instead took his own team to task for not converting on the long PP! Why would Lindy have this attitude? Because Lindy wants to WIN, and guys like Ovechkin and his counterpart in basketball, Michael Jordan, will take you to championship after championship if you can manage to surround them with the right support crew.

Like Jordan, once OV (who's only 22) is surrounded by the right mix, he will be the centerpiece of a mini-dynasty.

On top of all that, if you're going to complain about a questionably dirty hit, it better not be one where Kaleta is on the receiving end, as he is suspect numero uno in dishing that stuff out---and everybody, including OV, knows it.

I, for one, do not question Ovie's talent but he can and does get away with some questionable hits. I know because I live here in the DC area and watch the Capitals regularly. I agreed with the boarding and the 10 min misconduct but I don't think it deserved the game. I don't agree that the hit on Kaleta was "questionably dirty." Pat may not have be completely square to the boards prior to the hit but at the angle Ovie hit him caused Pat to square up to the boards. I also don't agree that Kaleta knew he was coming. Pat looked up ice to see who he could pass too and at no time did he look so far over his left shoulder to see Ovie coming from that angle.

I am guessing Patty will remember him when we face the Caps on December 9th or 23rd. He's got to pay the piper sooner or later!

Pat can remember him all he wants, it's not an even match.

In Ovechkin, you have arguably the most talented scorer in the league, who also happens to be one of the toughest.

I'll take 4-lines worth...and the cup, please.

Thank you.
