He looked good. Even the Maple Leafs announcers noticed him.

Like he was our best defenseman.

which defensemen was it that did that spin o rama and gave the leafs a breakaway because of it?

Was it myers or someone else?

I've read a number of Leafs' fans opinions, on various sites. He was noticed; Big Time.

He broke up that one play and got a bullshit penalty shot called on him for it.

Markus, that was Butler, actually. Myers had to HAUL ass to get into the play, and ended up taking a penalty when he swatted the puck (and Tlusty) out of the play.

EDIT: Hmm, after reviewing the play, it wasn't Butler. He had that giveaway to Tlusty, but not the spin-o-rama. I'm really fairly confident Myers didn't pull a Soupy.

I think it was Paetsch that did the spin, and Tallinder got back in the play to break it up. Myers did have a solid effort, not sure about 1st star though. He may be ready for the jump, but the only reasonable way to keep him on the roster is to move Paetsch up to forward. We have six one way contracts on defense...

Rivet
Montador
Lydman
Tallinder
Paetsch
Sekera

To Keep Myers would mean sending Butler to Portland. If Paetsch goes to forward than both Butler and Myers can stay. That may be a decent option since Mair is injured.

it might not be a bad idea to put paetsch on a forward line..i can't really see him cracking the top 6 d-men.....

or...WE COULD MAKE A TRADE(S) !!!! WOOO HOOO !!! YEAH !!!!

oh wait....i forgot...darcy is our GM....never mind

Ya know what, if it was Patches, I wouldn't be surprised. I remember him trying it last season a couple of times. Sekera, too.

Oh ok I wasn't sure.

I'd much rather see Myers a starter than Tallinder. Can we just buy him out?

Yes. It would count against the cap this season, but he'd be gone and the spot would be open.

A lot of them talked shit about being so scrawny, while a bunch of others were afraid he was already better than his former defensive partner, Schenn. Fans of other teams say he "plays like Chara" and "has to fill out a lil before being a terror". When fans of other teams call our boy wonder a terror once he fills out, shit looks real good.

And my dream to have one of our players pick up and eat Pierre McGuire might finally be realized.

Well it was pretty cool watching him skate so smoothly as being that huge.

...We missed the buyout period. We're stuck with him, unless we send him down or trade him.

I also noticed with Myers when he was skating he hunched over a bit. Well without the puck.

I think he might've done it to cut down his displacement, thus increasing his speed.
