Merge when you feel like it, but I just wanted to say that this is INCREDIBLE. I listened and didn't watch, so I can't say how he looked all 28:07!, but I'm assuming that Lindy leaned on Young Reliable when he needed him in the clutch. Way to put up an assist tonight, too!

His lack of mistakes during this much ice time is amazing! I hope he has an "A" next year because he has become a true leader. Take that shit off of Pominville, Hecht, and Rivet, and Give Myers and Gaustad some recognition.

Damn I was just about to post this, I wish I could have watched this game to see how Myers handled that much ice time, thats just ridiculous.

...and to think.

They had to think about keeping him up for this season. I know it's a business and all, but man, seriously?! I think it's awesome though how the pairing with Hank has seemingly brought him back to life.

Keep it up guys!

I noticed that he was out there a lot.

But that's an insane amount of ice time.

Let's just say it was 28 min of domination.. Not just cause I think he's a great player, but because he really did dominate.. I watched the french stream of the game so I didnt know what they were sayin but they kept showing slips of Myers play and I could tell by the tone in their voices that in those clips they were boasting about the kid..

People might flame you for that, but because it's Meyers, you may survive.

Anyways, I believe it whole-heartedly. He EARNED it, now give it to him.

28:07

Wow. Just wow. For a rookie defenseman. Just wow.

...and I'm a hardcore Bobby Orr fan. That's unbelievable. Thats pushing a very BIG envelope.

Idk man.. 2 things..

1) He's not very vocal.. Yea, he can lead by example, but why give him an A with leading by example when he can do that without an A?? No need for it..
2) I don't think anybody at the age of 20(he will be next year) should ever be a captain.. He doesn't have NHL experience.. How is he gonna tell everybody that is older than him(by a lot) what to do??

I'm only for him getting an A, and only if taken from Hecht or Pommers(next year unless they have a good playoff run). Craig keeps his "C" as long as this team keeps winning.

I say Goose has the C next year, regardless of how we do in the playoffs. I bet when we're there though, he'll show his true colors as the team leader.

My guess is that Myers isn't so vocal now, as stated, because he's only 19. He may be getting the most ice time, and be our best blue liner, but he is still a kid. He's played 31 NHL games, and we all know how mature he is so I'm sure he doesn't wanna be "that kid that thinks he knows it all." Instead he's listening to his elders on the team and learning from them. Give it a few years when he has some more pro experience under his belt, he'll be the leader we all know he was born to be.

This just don't make sense. If they win the cup, why would ya strip Rivet?? He's the last guy I'd be looking to strip right now.

The way I look at it is Rivet is getting older, we're seeing it in the way he plays. Next season will be the last of his contract with us. My guess is he'll retire after or maybe sign for another year or 2 to us or another team in a lesser role. For this reason I see Goose getting the C, and Rivet with the A next season. It's not Rivet being demoted as a punishment or for being old, but more of him passing the torch to the next generation of leadership on this team and helping guide Goose to be the best captain he can be.

This is just my opinion though, I'm not the one in the locker room making these decisions.

Don't think those thoughts. We learned our lesson when we lost Campbell.

I know that, but, well, you know.

Also, Campbell can't touch Myers. :P

Psh, yeah right. Soupy is the greatest Dman to ever skate HSBC. I say we make a trade strait up with Chicago, Campell (deal and all) for Myers.
