Pominville. He can't hit the net and hey, he has no moves. |

Pominville and Vanek are limited by the type of game they are playing and the shortcomings of the PP. I'm a big Connolly fan, but he needs to step up as a leader and a producer. He needs to keep things simple, get pucks on net and create ugly chances for his linemates. As the 1a/1b center on the team with perhaps the most talent, best hands and best decision making, he needs to set the tone for the rest of the top six. He needs to change his mind set from a fancy play maker to a garbage goal producer via simple will. It seems to me that the team has gotten away from the simplicity of getting pucks on net that they started the season with. Either way they weren't scoring much, but I didn't see wingers crashing the net much either then. Bottom line is the top center sets the tone, and Connolly needs to step up both 5-on-5 and on the PP. |

Offensive players with big contracts need to start earning those paychecks by putting points on the board, instead of relying on Miller and the defense to make one goal, low scoring leads hold up. |

I selected Jochen Hecht. He's the only one I can realistically see as being able to step up, and play a more physical, more defensively responsible, simpler game. In all honesty, the other players listed are way out in "Fancyville" - They will never accept the possibility that they might improve their game by playing a "back-to-basics" system. They are, at this point, almost a lost cause. And I have acquired an indifference and a contempt for them, based on their stubborness and arrogance. They are either too stupid or too vain or too uninspired to consider the self-examination necessary for any further maturation. They will not embrace any form of self-discipline willingly. At least, as far as Lindy Ruff's coaching philosophy is concerned. He prides himself on his "flexibility" and "accommodates" players and their "individual styles". In my world, Hockey is a "my way or the highway" proposition - There is only ONE right way (and a billion wrong ways) to do anything. I do not believe in coaching by consensus. I do not believe in bad luck or bad bounces or leaving things to chance or interpretive decision-making, by the players. Jochen has it in him to be a "good soldier" - The others don't. |

Darcy Rieger! He needs to step up and make the moves necessary that favor a complete Cup Run. |

Tim Connolly, sure some other people need to step up to, but he is the major one. |

Probably Vanek, but Connolly and Pominville are right behind him. |

Screw it, i'm going with roy. He used to be dangerous on offense, now he's just...a fancy little boy who accomplishes nothing. He has the skill-set to really take control, he just isnt. |

I am going with -All of the above. Yes we are statistically doing well as a team. I don't believe we will go very far with so many underacheivers on our first two lines. One goalie and several great role players can't do it on their own.... |

I voted Stafford. Where has he been? I barely notice him during the game sometimes. |

Connolly and Stafford are the two players that I think could do more out there. Connolly reeks of suspicion. Something's up with him either personally or physically. Stafford... I don't know. He uses his size to his advantage pretty well, but where are those bursts of speed we see every so often? He outta bring that more. |

I chose Connolly - I think he is the most skilled and offensively creative player on the team and has been getting the least out of it lately. Vanek would be a close second, but he's kind of a one trick pony anyway. I guess Stafford would be another good choice. That guy hasn't shown me much this year, and we all know he's capable of some highlight reel stuff. |
