I can't believe u think Colorrado is gonna win their division. Also Washington doesn't have the defence nor the goaltending to get past Pitts. I think we all learned a couple years ago that all-out offence can only take you so far. |

I'm not going to try and get that detailed, but for the East... 1-New Jersey 2-Washington 3-Boston 4-Pittsburgh 5-Buffalo 6-Atlanta 7-NY Rangers 8-Florida I think Boston will play better in the second half after playing healthy for a while. I think Buffalo will fall a little after several extended road trips. Ottawa will fall out starting now due to injuries, and the other teams either stink (Mon, Phi) or play better but won't catch up (Tor, NYI). If Buffalo drops the division they'll lose 1st round to Pitt. If they hang on they probably beat any 6 seed, and would face Washington for a toss-up series. If they beat Washington they'll lose to New Jersey or Pittsburgh in the Conference Finals. |

That sounds pretty realistic to me, 1980. I'd love to see them win the division but a 5 seed is what most fans are really expecting. |

I think that, as long as Varly managed to fix his easily-explodable glove side, that the Caps will be alright in the goaltending department. Otherwise... |

I don't see Boston overtaking Buffalo. I think they're an overrated hockey club, and I saw holes in their lineup before the season even started, when I predicted Buffalo to finish first in the Northeast. |

As long as the Sabres manage to keep going on winning streaks interrupted by one or two clunkers (hard fought OT or SO losses would be better), they'll take the division. In my mind, there's one big gnarly streak coming up in January and they need to survive with a winning record in that month to be OK for the season, IMO. |

It is difficult to predict where the Sabres finish. It all depends on how healthy Miller stays throughout the season. Miller is healthy and we finish tops in the NE. He gets hurt and we are hoping the wins we piled up during the first half of the season are enough for us to hang on to the 7th or 8th seed. |

East 1 Pittsburgh 2 Washington 3 Buffalo 4 New Jersey 5 Boston 6 Atlanta 7 Montreal 8 Ottawa West 1 Chicago 2 San Jose 3 Calgary 4 LA 5 Nashville 6 Phoenix 7 Dallas 8 Detroit 1st round Pittsburgh beats Ottawa 4-0 Washington beats Montreal 4-3 Buffalo beats Atlanta 4-2 Boston beats NJ 4-3 Chicago beats Detroit 4-1 Sharks beat Stars 4-3 Calgary beats Phoenix 4-2 Nashville beats LA 4-1 2nd Round Pittsburgh beats Boston 4-3 Buffalo beats Caps 4-3 Chicago beats Nashville 4-3 Calgary beats Sharks 4-2 3rd Round Pittsburgh beats Buffalo 4-3 Chicago beats Calgary 4-1 Cup Final Chicago beats Pittsburgh 4-3 Honestly the only reason reason I see the caps getting knocked off early is they really do not have great secondary scoring. Also my cup final could go either way. |

Yes he has put up good numbers but to say he's matured that much over 22 regular season games is absurd. |

bigC24 wrote: This thread is no good.... it's bad mojo, ya hear!? BAD MOJO ...What he said. 36 games played is hardly the time to start this. Let's see what's happening with a month left in the schedule...It's a looooong ways off, yet. I remember we were all talking hot-shit, 'round this time last season. And then...? We're not even past the Olympics/All-Star Break. That's the "real" homestretch. That's the kicker. |

Your too kind. The Buffalo Sabres never make it out of the 1st round due to the lack of offensive firepower. Sorry, but the truth hurts. |
