The Sabres are going coast-to-coast for seven road games in January.

@Atl 1/14
@ NYI 1/16
@ Pho 1/18
@ Anh 1/19
@ LA 1/21
@ SJ 1/23
@ Van 1/25

Jet lag, four games after 10:00 (EST), one back-to-back set, eleven days on the road, a team that often has our number (Atl), and the top team in the league (SJ).

There is a possible 14 points to be earned on this road trip. What would be an acceptable point total when the boys return home?

During the same time period the Bruins (who are currently 7 points behind us) will be on a three game west coast road trip, then return home for two games against Ottawa, one game against Columbus, and an away game on the 24th against Carolina. Even if we stumble a bit I don't see them making up a whole lot of ground on us in the next couple of weeks.

I picked 9 of 14.

Their road record is good so far this year, but this is an exceptionally tough stretch.

I picked 10 out of 14, but that's including a couple of extra-time losses.

8 or 9 pts would be successful, but I only expect 6.

I will be satisfied if they come home with 7 out of 14 points.

Of course, that is assuming they head out with at least victories over Tampa and Toronto before they leave (the Colorado game is on cursed Saturday night and is the second of back-to-back games, so I'm not holding out a great deal of hope there).

If we go on the road already on a bit of a losing streak, then seven points won't be so satisfying. However, if we pick up a couple of points on Boston before we leave then .500 hockey is acceptable, given the circumstances.

I think losing one game out right and another in overtime is what our Sensational Sabres will do. We are smokin hot!
My #2 team (AVS) will be heading to Buffalo next Sat. That should be a fantastic game to watch, Sabres winning of course!

I'm going to the Vancouver game. Hopefully they'll have enough legs to win when I see them.

Colorado plays at Carolina the night before. Even though Carolina doesn't count as a hockey game this season, there will be no excuses.

I don't know, if we can keep up our dominance of the West up, I'm going to be very happy.

I'm sure not many people thought we'd beat Chicago or Calgary but we still did.

Those five games are gonna be tough. Phoenix and Vancouver have outstanding goaltending, San Jose and Los Angeles have serious offensive attacks, and well Anaheim has...not much

This team needs to make a statement that first road game. Show that they are ready to go full force. Winning against Atlanta again, IN Atlanta would be a great start. If they can do that, I think that will give them a little boost of momentum to start the rest of their long road trip.

Actually, as has been the entire season, that entire goddamned road trip is a statement.

The only team I'm the most worried about is San Jose, because we've already beaten Phoenix once this year. Luongo is still suspect, but they have offensive firepower, and we must contain the Twins and their top line, LA is a solid team this year, and are really the upstart team in the league, The Ducks, well they are not what they once were.

San Jose is just on a roll this year, but if we beat them, I don't see many problems from our Sabres, and they have Heatley, who has been a Sabre killer before and will continue to be one.
