He's been sent back to Portland after coming off of IR. Last Thursday, I believe. Some media outlets reported it as a 'conditioning stint', believe it or not.

EDIT: Yep, he's in Portland. He put in a pair of assists during the 4-0 win over the P-Bruins on Sunday.

He played great while he was up here. I like how his development is going.

I'm excited to see him again. Hope he finds his way back into the lineup.

It was mentioned as an afterthought to a post practice article on Sabres.com, listed in the notes section I believe.

"Lindy Ruff says Nathan Gerbe has recovered from his injury and has been sent back to Portland."

I heard or read that it was for only a conditioning stint.

Eyes must be deceiving me.

Eyes not deceiving you, Sky - there were indeed reports that it was only a conditioning stint.

I know in one of the GDT's I seriously thought I read it in the game preview when he went down.

I'll go and see if I can find it.

I can't remember where I read it, but I distinctly remember one or two reporters using the words "conditioning stint".

Injury Report: Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta (leg) is day-to-day, while Nathan Gerbe (groin) is on a conditioning stint with Portland in the American Hockey League. …

http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/preview.htm?id=2009020623

It was in the Montreal GDT.

The Atlanta one Schony had it posted saying just returned to Portland, but that preview, which is the NHL preview had said Conditioning stint.

How true it may be is all to be seen, because the max is 7 days I think. I remember looking up the max amount of days they can be sent for conditioning stints now.

I posted it in the Lalime one.
