Sabres Managing Partner Larry Quinn responded to comments made by Schopp and the Bulldog Wednesday. Quinn stopped by our studios to tell listeners how badly his organization wants to win the Stanley Cup.

“Every day I come into the office, more so Darcy and Lindy, and that’s all that we think about. Now what road do you take to get there? “

Identifying a player to put the team over the hump would be one way. How open is the team to trading for a high-priced talent at the deadline?

“You should do it if it’s the one piece from the Cup. We have to believe that that’s the way to go and we’re not afraid of it.”

Quinn talked about how he fantasizes about winning the big one. He feels like some Western New Yorkers are convinced that no matter how good they are, the dye has been cast. They’ll never win it all.

“I think it’s the psyche of the community. You think about what we’ve gone through. ..My generation saw 25,000 steel jobs lost. 8,000 in the auto industry. You had people worrying about their livelihoods, seeing their children leave. We’ve been the butt of jokes. “

“I think that’s what Buffalo fans are about. I think it goes beyond sports, feeling like the guy who got kicked too much. “

One thing that got cleared up was the involvement of owner Tom Golisano.

“He’s incredibly involved. I talk to Tom at least twice a day…He never, ever tries to make a decision. He’ll ask every question you can think of. Everything I said about me wanting to win the cup, that’s him times two.”

As usual, Quinn has some ideas to make the Sabres product better. He said changes are in store for next year. He didn’t have an exact date, but the transition to road games airing in high definition is underway.

Exactly what Phil said, and how many time have we heard that before? Im just waiting till deadline goes by and Darcy comes out and says that there was No one on the market that is useful for this team, unfortunatly if you want the cup your going to have to give some stuff up...
