Now just 2 points away from being a point per game player, Tim Connolly has got his act together.

He has at least 1 point in 12 consecutive games, good for the longest active streak in the NHL.

You have got to love the way he's playing right now.

I really want to start telling people again why I was so in favor of re-signing Connolly, but I promised I would wait until after next season and about 150 pts later.

He's just been so unlucky the past few years and hope he is back to what he was on the Island in games played at least.

I don't know, I will still reserve judgement until we see how he plays in the playoffs. With that in mind, I was very happy the team won this evening against Phoenix, I hope the Vanek, Roy, Stafford line continues to climb out of their slumber and find some chemistry. Vanek is becoming quite the playmaker, Connolly too is a playmaker. I wonder if Timmy showed Vanek a thing or 2 these past few weeks.

I think it's pretty realistic for Connolly to gather 150 pts this season and next.

No, really, I wasn't too keen on re-signing him at the time, but now I enjoy the bird meat. Tastes good with a honey glaze.

The signing would look good only if he could stay healthy.

We already know he can put up almost a PPG or be that player, and we know he produces in the playoffs.

Ding, ding, ding.

The questions were never about Timmah's talent. They were all about the likelihood that he would stay healthy.

I'm hoping that I eat crow about the extension.

I believe Connolly must have been nursing an undisclosed injury earlier in the year. He's normally a pretty feisty guy, but when he was slumping he made Kotalik look gritty. Whatever it was, the light is on and Timmy is home. This is the guy we knew and loved last season, when he came back from injury at the midpoint and just tore it up.
