...for last night's loss.

Just kidding, blame him all you want. Buffalo outscored the Ducks 4-1 after Miller entered the game. I'm usually pretty pro-Lalime, but man did he lay an egg last night.

to be fair though, miller didnt really have to do much during the second and parts of the third. the team woke up in the second, nothing Lalime could really do there.

that being said...

Lalime probably wants to buy Jochen Hecht dinner for scoring in the last seconds of the game, making it so he wasn't charged with the loss.

Only got to watch the 3rd period, so I didn't see Lalime's performance and haven't had a chance to watch the highlights. I'm sure it was a combination of the team not playing well in front of him, and Lalime not stopping some shots that maybe he should have.

This thread should have been serious, because the only goal Lalime had a chance on was the breakaway. If a freakin breakaway was the weakest chance that was scored on against the goalie, the team obviously left him hanging out to dry.

The first goal was a cross ice pass to a wide open Getzlaf for an open net, then the breakaway that Lalime seemed to lose his right foot preventing the left leg stretch. The third goal was an easy tap in by an open man right in the crease, and the fourth one went in courtesy of a Butler ricochet.

The team laid an egg. Lalime messed up on the breakaway and the stupid slash penalty before the fourth goal, that's it.

Then the fourth one is Lalime's fault, too - the Ducks score on a PP he gave them.

And yea, I squarely blame Rivet for the first goal (or was that the third? Which one was the breakaway? Shit, I was tired).

The breakaway was the second goal, but I thought Tallinder and Myers got caught up ice on that one.

OK then it was the first goal that Rivet didn't cover his man at all.

that breakaway goal, lalime went down to early. hecht gave the puck away, a lot of bad give aways. lalime was not on the ball and bad give aways. then the sabres tightened up when miller started playing.

Lalime was bad.

The Sabres were pretty bad in the first as well.

Since it was a whole team thing, I won't go too hard on him.

I think he's done a tremendous job up until last night.

I'm tired of the excuses for Lalime. He makes him self so smalll in the net, and if he lets in one goal, he looses all his confidence.
Yes....cross crease pass....some weird richochet....easy tap in...if there was a real NHL goalie in net, those would have been stops. Good goallies are in the right spot at the right time even if they don't see the puck.

GS29, what excuses? The team clearly got embarrased in the 1st period. Ducks were flying wide open everywhere in the Sabres zone, and they scored two goals that no goalie in the NHL had a chance on. The other was a breakway and the 4th was a (un) lucky bounce that no goalie would save, but Lalime took that stupid penalty setting up that PP.

I think I spread fault evenly there. Bottom line is that Lalime can't be singled out for that loss.

so...you want our goalies to have ESP?

out of curiosity, who do you consider to be a good goalie?

Lalime couldnt beat the leafs in the PO's, while in a Sens uniform. I thought he was out of hockey. I'm surprised he ended up with the Sabres. I guess his starts will be few and far between with Miller on your team. I'd take him on my team anyday. ;)

I blame Lalime for our poor road trip.

Also, I just read an article in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune that Brett Farve blames Lalime for the Vikings' choke in the NFC championship game.
