Good to get another win, but shit have these last two been dull. I really loved the West Coast style of free-wheeling hockey, even though we came up short on the scoreboard more often than not. These grinding, dull, clogged up games in the East are enough to make you fall asleep.

My three stars:

1. Miller - Solid game, though rarely tested
2. Vanek - Great goal in front of the net to secure the win
3. Myers - Dominant performance up and down the ice

The Montador and Lydman pairing had another shaky night, especially Montador. Loods had to bail him out a couple times when he carelessly gave away the puck.

Not sure what's up with Gaustad, but he's been invisible for the past two weeks. MacArthur showed no signs that he deserves to stay in the lineup.

Roy still can't get out of his own way, and that late penalty was asinine.

Crazy stat of the night: Sabres had 27 giveaways to just 10 by Boston.

Time to give Miller a rest...I say put in Patty against Pittsburgh and save Ryan for the motherfucking, cocksucking Senators.

I'm starting to think he's a pretty decent player.

I'm 5-0 so far this season attending Sabres games.

Hopefully I don't get fired for going to tonight's game...but honestly I don't even give a shit anymore.

It's interesting to see people talk about how physical Myers has been, given how "soft" he was to start his rookie season. The whole season, we talked about the what if scenario about his mean streak, and he's certainly developing it nicely.

His assist keeps him in 3rd for rookie scoring, btw, and gives him 24 on the season - which is far and away tops for rookies.

If I had to nit-pick, I would tell him that on the power play he needs to be more aggressive carrying in the puck, because his side passes are getting picked left and right. Still, he is the best player on the ice virtually every single game, so it's not like I'm about to bitch.

If the only nit-picking we have to do is that he's not gnarly enough with the puck on the PP, during his rookie season, then I'd say we're in good shape regarding Tyler Franchise. :D

I'm really, really trying not to think about the fucking Ottawa game right now, but suffice to say I'm already simmering underneath the surface.

Telling that the hatred for fucking Ottawa is so thick that we're fighting off the urge to overlook the defending champion Crosbies.

they didnt play a full 60, in my eyes. maybe boston was in its elusive 6th or 5th or whatever gear, but for a while, the sabres couldnt get it out of their end.

We really need to win that game against Ottawa to remove any confidence they have going.

Well, the last 5 minutes they played a defensive shell, just trying to keep everything to the perimeter and dump it out when the opportunity was available. I thought they played well in the first, even in the 2nd, and a prevent defense to close it out.

At this point, after about ten years of domination, the jinx lies in the Sabres heads, not the forum threads. I will be giving a GDT that is nothing less than you would expect from me...

They played great for the first 20 minutes, skating fast, hiding hard and getting in the face of the bruins. We usually dominate when they play physical and get into the face of they're opponents. Once they back off is when trouble starts. We can dominate Ottawa if we play a full 60 minutes of this fast, hard hitting play.

sometimes hockey is more important that a job....it's just part of life....

back in 99' when we went to the cup i asked the owner of the pizzeria if he could change my work schedule so that the nights i worked did not fall on the same day as a playoff game......

when he refused....i quit...

problem solved...i didn't miss a game :)

Honestly, a win would make a GDT like the one I'm sure you're planning even sweeter.
