Please do the following prior to the Sabres' next game: 1. Review film of the PIT game, and take down the names of those who made blind backhanded passes that either went nowhere or became turnovers 2. Bag-skate all the offenders until YOU "get tired" 3. Announce to the team that THE NEXT MOTHERFUCKER THAT MAKES A BACKHAND PASS TURNOVER AGAINST OTT WILL BE WATCHING THE CAR AND/OR CBJ GAMES FROM THE PRESS BOX NOTE TO PATRICK LALIME This coming weekend is a back-to-back {CAR/CBJ}. I expect you'll be given a start in one of these games; this is your FINAL opportunity to show you're worth a crap before the roster freeze/trade deadline. Please extract your cranium from your anal cavity {or wherever the hell you had it a couple of weeks ago in ANA, when you gave up four goals on six shots} before then. NOTE TO RYAN MILLER Congratulations on making the Olympic roster. Now, please remember your more immediate duties as starting goalie for the Buffalo Sabres, and act accordingly. That means keeping your head up when clearing the puck to your teammates -- so it doesn't turn into a SOG {and goal.} NOTE TO CRAIG RIVET I have to admit, I'm wondering why you're wearing the "C." On the ice, of late, you've either been getting caught deep in the Sabres zone, or a step behind the other teams' forwards. Off the ice, back when Ryan Miller let loose with some verbal pyrotechnics on his teammates in the locker room vs. MTL, while I was pleased with him speaking out, I wondered where our team captain was in that matter -- plus, when the Sabres were about to play your old team in SJ, the thing you talked about the most was your old house; you even mentioned in the pregame interview that you might "drive by and stare at it wistfully." Helluva way to prepare for that game . . . NOTE TO DARCY REGIER TOR is making moves before the trade deadline, and they're not even contending, so this is no time for us to be complacent. If Patrick Lalime is unable to get his head out {see above}, please either make a play for Marty Turco, who's on the outs in DAL, or Marty Biron, who's part of a crowd in NYI, to serve as Miller's backup. {It's time we had a "two-headed monster" of our own.} If you can't swing either, just release Lalime and bring up Enroth. NOTE TO BUFFALO SABRES This PIT game should have provided more evidence {as if more were necessary} that it is no longer 2006: the days when you could turn every game into a speed-skating contest and treat defense as something you leave to the goalie are over. It also means that getting a one or two goal lead and thinking the other team will simply roll over in the face of your greatness is over. So ENOUGH with search for the highlight reel pass -- remember both Kennedy's goal and Pominville's goal; the former was the result of a textbook 3 on 2, the latter a bang-bang between Connolly and Poms -- NEITHER using a blind backhand. |

just release Lalime and bring up Enroth. YOU CAN'T RELEASE PLAYERS IN THE NHL. You have to buy him out, but since he is an UFA next year it would be pointless to take any of his remaining salary for next year. |

Last night's game was a microcosm of this season. Getting all worked up over 1 game, is just not good for your health, or sanity. Yes this team has issues, and I'm sure it's well known. But we are still atop our division, and had to overcome piss poor, one sided officiating, and easily could have won that game if a bounce or two went our way instead of the Pens. In other words...chill bro...chill |

Ryan Miller has been the biggest reason why this team is where it is. You're going to jump all over him for a single mistake? Please. Any goalie will make one or two of those a year. I've seen Patrick Roy and Marty Brodeur do some real head scratching stuff. It's one game against a very capable team. They made some mistakes, sure, but the Penguins did kinda win a championship last year. They're sorta not bad. |

Yeah, that wasn't your typical we played like crap so we lost. Aside from some whacky circumstances, that's probably a 4-2 game that goes in our favor. How many penalties aginst us went uncalled? Seems like evey five minutes there was a Sabre holding their face while skating to the bench with the ref looking the other way. |

Although, that having been said, I would like to see us start to put together a bit of a winning streak. |

Vanek had 2 or 3 prime chances to bury the puck and increase the score. Sometimes the bounce on the puck or the time you have to shoot it is a real issue. Last nights game boiled down to 3 mistakes. Miller's backhand pass to Myers = FAIL but not on an epic scale, hey, shit happens. Miller's failure to stop one shot that turned into a goal = a defenseman got caught pinching and sometimes shit happens. D-man pinching = both Rivet and Montador got caught pinching and that cost us 2 goals but I have to believe Lindy is giving them the green light to do so. If Miller has an off game, give the guy a break, he is shouldering a huge load for this team. If Lindy has the D-men pinching, things like this are going to happen from time to time. Overall, the teams record indicates this has been a successful formula, I see no reason why 1 lose should change that. |

I would add to that that we've shown a good ability this season to adjust and make the necessary corrections. |

I'd like to knock the two front teeth right out of Crosby's mouth. To be honest, I'm pretty surprised this hasn't happened yet. I'd got nuts playing against that shit eating grin if I were in the NHL. |

Quote: 1. Review film of the PIT game, and take down the names of those who made blind backhanded passes that either went nowhere or became turnovers I agree with this statment, probably the only one. Myers was caught (again) doing this which resulted in an excellent chance (if not a goal). He wasn't the only one to get this kind of pass picked off |

Wonder if Miller said anything postgame about deliberately tripping Crosby. |

It's cute when fans think they know more than NHL coaches and players. |

the only grip against miller is he is lousy handling the puck. last night had its positive notes, and negative notes. but overall, they had that game where the wanted it, and coughed it up. its not that dis concerning, the pens are a great team. but you HAVE to learn from those mistakes. me thinks they will. |

The truest of truisms so far this season. I'd like to add that the Sabres have done a remarkable job at bouncing back this season. |

I'd love to see crosby flattened for no apparent reason during a game, just an out of nowhere thing so he'd be scared as hell to do anything for the rest of the game. |

I've been saying that for awhile. All of these crazy ass men in the NHL, and not ONE has lost it and gone after Crosby yet. I'm actually pretty amazed. |
