Post subject:  Playoffs?! A Serious Thread
In a month or so, we'll (hopefully) be gearing up for a playoff run. I went through some stats today seeing how the Sabres stacked up.

Records:
32-15-7

Against the Northeast
9-3-3

Against Eastern Conference Playoff Teams
11-7-3

Against Western Conference Playoff Teams
5-2-2

Overall Against Playoff Teams
16-9-5



I'll leave it simple for now and home some discussion comes of it.

I think that the playoffs are very realistic... just we need to see the Sabres buckle down and do work. Then life will be good.

Unless this team goes into a massive meltdown, I don't see why we would not make the playoffs. If they don't let it go to their heads, I think we'll go pretty deep too

Ottawa had an amazing start that one year and freefell and still made the playoffs.

The only way for the Sabre to not make them this year is if they lost their remaining games, or at least 20 of the next 30. Even then they could make them, but this team is doing well this year so we should expect a good playoff run.

We need what 21 points to hit last year's eighth seed? Ten wins in 28 games? Probably not even since the East is so muddled and crappy this year. 88 points might do it.

I don't see the top four teams in the East change much really, maybe in order, but The Devils, Washington, Pittsburgh and the Sabres are going to the the top four teams.

Ottawa will probably be the fifth team and the last three are crapshoots.

That's what I say this year judging right now with how the teams are playing.

The playoffs WILL take place as long as they start before the end of 2012.
