Tyler myers was on the ice, so the other D was probably Tallinder - along with a bunch of milk toast forwards!

Hey now, Stafford definitely made a strong verbal objection at the time. I'm sure he was quite candid in voicing his displeasure.

I was proud Myers went after him. Rivet is garbage, always has been. Butler too.
Lydman and Montador make way to many mistakes in the offensive zone.
The only 2 men with break out passing worth a shit on this team are Myers and Tallinder. The rest circle around in thier own zone, looking like they're fucking lost. Mis handling the puck, failed pinch ins, just plain awful passing, these seem to be the core components for 4 of our 6 defensemen. I'm sure the pinching in was Lindy's idea, but the rest is plainly on the players themselves.

Agreed, its a fuckin disgrace he even wears the "C".
Seymor Knox III is rolling over in his fuckin grave at this. I'll tell ya, the more and more I look at this team, the more I want them to trade for a young stud D man. Any names come to mind?

I've seen Rivet stand up for this team plenty of times when he is on the Ice, he just can't jump onto the ice to pound someone or risk getting thrown out.

I don't remember which game I was watching but Rivet took on TWO guys in front of Miller in either the Pittsburgh Game or the game before him because they got close. Him and Goose were on the ice, and he stood up for Miller.

Watch a bit closer who is on the ice when stuff happens, if Rivet is on the ice, shit is going to get done.

He's certainly physical. I'm not questioning that. People around our net get punished when he's on the ice.

But with the style we're playing, his speed or lack there of is really hurting him.

I believe it was Tallinder, Kennedy, and Vanek on the ice at that time, in addition to Myers and Stafford.

Post subject:  Re: Dear Craig Rivet,

Yea PSP that is correct, but Rivet seems to hold his own fine.

He isn't the type of player this year to just go run someone, around the net he hurts others and prevents people from getting close to Miller.

People complain about lack of heart from Rivet of all people is nonsense. Tell the other 13 players who do nothing on the team to do just a little of what Rivet does with Heart. we all know Goose, Mair, Kaleta, and now Myers will, and Montador, but what about the other gutless, heartless players?

If Vanek got a bit angry and hit more people with fistacuffs, more people wouldn't mess with this team.

Even though Crosby is a pussy, with his fight it showed alot of character from him and more players respect that and won't take as many liberties, even though they could all but murder Crosby.

Post subject:  Re: Dear Craig Rivet,

and also, Craig Rivet is a great locker room guy from what I hear. From what I can remember, before the Sabres road trip in practice, Rivet called a players only meeting, no coaches. Obviously the team respects him, otherwise they wouldn't have voted him captain. He may not be the best on ice leader at this time, but there is more to the captaincy than that. In my opinion, the letters on jerseys shouldn't really be dwelled on that much when you're playing. If you want to be a leader, play like a leader. you don't need a letter to do it.

Post subject:  Re: Dear Craig Rivet,

From what I hear, Andrew Peters was a great locker room guy too :P The thing is, his play has really been trailing off lately, as has Butler's. As was stated earlier (maybe even elsewhere?) Lindy was benched as Captain, it'd be nice to see how Craig would react to that...

Post subject:  Re: Dear Craig Rivet,

Rivet has been horrible this year. And honestly, he's been mostly horrible his entire time with the Sabres. He's a disappointment on the ice. I don't know - maybe he's an amazing leader and that's why he has the C. But I really can't wait for him to leave, to be honest with you.
