He was probably just irate that Stafford got into a fight and gave the Jackets a PP.

BTW, apparently Montador is out with an injury he sustained in getting pounded by Boll, who, in Monty's defense is a pretty rough customer. It also could have taken place before he got his ass whipped in the fight when Boll just clobbered him with a hit along the glass.

anyone know the specific nature of Montadors injury?

Getting your ass kicked generally doesn't keep someone off the ice several days later.

Montador has been struggling lately, whatever the injury is and how it was caused. He was brought in to be a solid top 6 d-man and he's been one of our worst defensively since the west coast trip. I'm perfectly fine with him sitting out for a little while.

Need to come out swinging tomorrow.

the pessimist in me says you'll see them come out and play one or two games with enthusiasm then see their old habits kick in and everyone think they know what is best and how to win and they will lose. And Regier thinks all is well, but his core players don't want to follow his coach's game plan, How does that work?

Looking at it from an optimist point of view: They deserved to be kicked in the ass, i almost wish someone would give me the boot in the ass every once in a while to keep me on track. This ass kicking will wake them up make them realize they need to win as a team not a bunch of individuals.

Lately, it seems as though the 3rd and 4th liners are the ones not following the game plan.

I would guess upper body, possibly rib with the way he was hit, if that is in fact where the injury occurred.

It's no coincidence that they slumped right after taking 1st in the conference and crushing Phoenix 7-2. They started to think they could skate all over the ice and wheel and deal as they pleased. D-man started getting way out of position, while forwards weren't anywhere near covering for the pinch. It's the usual overconfident response that these players are accustomed to.

Yeah, Boll just crushed him with that hit...one of many times the uncouth Jackets pounded our gentle artists into the wall.

If it's like my experience it doesn't even get through one ear.

Did anyone read the comments left there? Here's one (note the author ;) )

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Dubielewicz may be available. Minny has 4 goalies and just assigned him to the farm...That addresses the need for a reliable back-up. The guy is money in pressure situations - Waive Lalime down to the Pirates.

The Canes have already stripped Brind'Amour of his captaincy and are looking to move him in favor of the youth-movement led by Staal - A gritty, solid center with veteran and playoff experience who battles through injuries, kills penalties, goes hard to the net and has held some of the highest face-off percentages in recent history.
Instant captain - And a sterling work-ethic. Rock-solid. After this season, he's got another at $3 mil...

My humble suggestions for very workable interim solutions to the Sabres' current woes.
No pie-in-the-sky, but such moves would work to position the Sabres better for a playoff run.
Trade a couple of pending UFA's or an underacheiver or two, and balance the deal out with a prospect or a draft-choice.

These are very great ideas. I would love all of these trades.

If Big Daddy Lindy is such a force; then why the hell didn't read them the riot act five games ago??

Because he has been the "kindler, gentler" Lindy. He even believed that this was the reason why the team has done better this season. Well, that went to hell

If your boss was paying you millions of dollars a year to do something you love(playing a game), do you suppose he'd STILL scream at you to get you to work hard? The notion sounds silly to me. Hell, I'd fire anyone who made $20/hour and needed more incentive. Maybe if we lose the next game, we can have a closed door meeting. Ya, that should do the trick.
