Ryan Miller in reference to the 3-0 they gave up tonight. Could things get any worse? And how long before Miller gets in Darcy's face about bringing in some talent, or worse, request a trade? |

Miller stayed in Buffalo because he believed Darcy would put together a team who had a shot at the cup within the next 6 years. Its possible that this could happen, but highly unlikely if the team keeps playing like this. A stretch like this can happen to alot of teams, but its almost like the first half of the season was some strange hiccup of awesomeness. If Darcy doesn't do something, even if its just to show the players that they're not safe, Miller is going to be one pissed goalie. I'm not sure if Darcy wants his "one true superstar" pissed off at the other players and organization. Hopefully what Miller has done here is force Darcy to make a move because Miller is all this team has. |

I don't think Miller is going to consult with Darcy on what he should to at the trade deadline. He's just a player. He knows his boundaries. |

And just to state Miller has faced another one of those 3 on NONE in his career, it was against boston like two yyears ago... and Miller should say something to darcy like "get this shit done or im done!" I hope he doesnt say he is done but you know what I mean. |

I definitely don't expect him to say anything around the deadline. But they have meetings once the season is over one on one. And when the organization asks the players what they think they can do better, I wouldn't be surprised if he was just as animated as we saw him tonight. |

I hope Miller gets in arcy's face about getting some superstar talent here, bring in more defensmen who won't lose an edge, bring in some quality scorers to put the puck in the other net. Our superstars of this team are Miller and a 20 year old Rookie Defensemen. We don't need to clean house by any means, we just need first line talent. |

It's just frustrating because we've all seen how this team is capable of being very good and dominant, and right now...well they're playing like a bunch of little babies or however Miller wordered it. |

Actually Fly, Miller is correct, they have been playin like shit for months, they've just been getting away with it. I have never seen this current roster be very good or dominant at any time since Drury/Briere left. I love the fact Miller called a spade a spade, maybe it will wake management up. I see Miller asking for a trade if they attempt to stand pat with the current roster or something similiar next season. He is no dummy and he isn't going to want to waste his prime playing years with an organization that refuses to attempt to bring in the components necessary to be a winner. Just some food for thought. Buffalo may be in love with Miller, but Miller is a professional, and he wants a championship atmosphere around him. |

I'm very happy for Miller to come out and say what needed to be said. I had hoped to hear this from Rivet about two weeks ago, it was time to call out the overall play. However, I vehemently disagree that Miller is going to 'demand a trade' at any point. He's not a prima donna player that pulls stunts like that. He signed his contract; he'll fulfill it. That's how he is. |

I agree, Squanto. I fully expected Rivet be the one to publically call the team out. Instead as of late, he's been one of the many which have been in the dog house. At least, the fan's dog house. I've been wondering how long it was going to take for Miller to snap and to be honest, I thought it would have been 2 games ago. This team had been slowly slipping and we all seen it dating back to the end of Dec/early Jan. Coupled with the 3-0 rush, there was also a 4-1 earlier in the game in which Tallinder broke up by staying right in the middle of the play. These break downs shouldn't happen as often as they have been, let alone twice in one game. To me, the players just aren't responding to the words being said by the coaching staff. I seen the same thing in Chicago years ago when following them. Jesus, even in the playoffs, Sutter tossed his pad and pencil down onto the floor in the locker room and told the team to make up their own lines. He tried everything to motivate the team. Sure, as it has been pointed out that we've had these skids in the past and were able to bounce back from them. But with the mental status of the guys on this team right now, as Miller put it, the "Woe is me" attitude, I honestly don't see them being able to climb back out of the hole if this continues. Not many of them, but some fresh faces are needed here. If it's behind the bench or on the roster. Something has to change. |

As a side note, Im glad to see you spelled Prima Donna correctly and know its proper usage. I was sent an email at work the other day from my boss that a co-worker sent to him. We were both laughing because the guy complained about me being a "Pre Madonna" lol...... |

Ya know, its nice to really feel like a player would show that kind of loyalty through their entire career. Reminds me of the old days. But no one knows for if Miller would or would not 'demand a trade'. I based my statement merely on the situation at hand combined with a players ability to play at peak performance. I stand by my statement. If the team fails to get better, there is no reason to believe Miller would continue to anchor a team that refuses to make the necessary adjustments to win. Also, I firmly believe that if they delay the rebuilding process until the end of next season that would be in the back of Millers mind as well in my opinion. I just don't understand the blind loyaly, it makes no sense for him as a player what so ever. He would garner the same level of attention in another city as he does here, I see no real reason why he wouldn't ask to be moved if management fails in its job. With that being said, remember folks, I never stated he "was or is or has even mentioned" he wanted out. I was merely speculating on what one of the possibilities are if LQ and DR continue to dick the dog. |

He didn't tear the team apart, after 05-06 we couldn't have kept the guys who left, we were at the cap in 06-07 and he just choose to keep some of the wrong players who had better years than the ones he let go. No one could have kept the 05-06 team together, but he made a blunder with Briere and Drury, but heck, it was their bright idea to not negotiate during the year, they've learn, and now we are just missing a few pieces here and there, the first step is just making the playoffs, if you can make the playoffs with the team we have, it means you have a shot, so you keep building and adding on this team to make them the contenders they can be. |

I always wonder about the real impact of losing Driere and Brury. Neither one of those players is a superstar no matter which way you slice it since between the two of them they only have 1 season above 80 points, and maybe 7 above 60. I think a lot of the following season was based on the lack of confidence without them rather than the actual loss of their skills and production. If you take two 65 point guys off of any president's trophy winner, they should probably still make the playoffs. I think the worst part is the fact that we don't seem to have recovered the confidence that we had those two seasons. Players that have been here for a while just don't look the same. |
