The arena has been noticeably quiet this year and it seems like the players notice too. It's probably due to the boring games we witness most nights but hopefully with only 6 home games left we can get the building rockin again. Here's the article http://www.buffalonews.com/2010/03/11/9 ... o-the.html |

I saw that. I'd really like to see the fans get a little more rowdy so this team has something to play for. I'd imagine you'd be a lot better of when you're being cheered for rather than booed. |

It's hard to cheer for lacklustre performances |

I've been asking about this all year. Why has the Buffalo arena lost it's trademark of noise. There used to be Lets Go Buff-A-Lo chants every 5 minutes and now you'll be lucky to hear one all game. I know a Bruins fan who went to HSBC and he said that it was the loudest crowd he's ever heard. We need that back! It depresses me to hear quiet on the tv. GET LOUD GUYS. GET FUCKIN LOUD. |

They want the fans to get rowdy, eh ? Simple solution: For the rest of the season, cut the price of all alcoholic drinks in half |

You mean like holding down first in their division for most of the season? Winning games in a boring fashion does not inspire applause most times, thats all. Im glad they are in 1st and agree that they should be applauded more for it, but there have been so many downright boring games its hard for fans to cheer when they are watching 2-1 dump-and-chase fests all night |

And yet the previous two years fans have been calling for an end to the flashy, making too many passes games and boring wins. |

There are ways to play the game that are more interesting than the flashy, unsubstantiative play we had the two previous years while still winning....thats pretty much what I'm getting at. Not that I agree with the lack of noise in the arena, but boring games beget bored fans.... |

Maybe if a majority of the team didn't play like complete pussies, skated their asses off and didn't bore the fuck out of the fans then the fans would be more rowdy... |

Hard hits and spectacular goalie saves will always garner more raucous crowd response than fancy-assed offensive displays (except for a breakaway, ala the Max Afinogenov Effect). |

Yeah but even in Canadian Arena's during a boring game the fans will cheer the very little successes. Good defensive plays and such. When I was in Vancouver this year the entire arena was buzzing throughout the game and the first period was boring. They have this thing that they do kind of like MTL's Ole Ole Ole. Sometime throughout each period over the speakers it goes woooooooooooooo, and then the whole crowd goes wooooooooooooooooo. Just a fun little way to keep fans into it. Maybe Buffalo should get something like that. Although I'm sure the beer helps. |
