I didn't get to see much of the Atlanta game, but I read on WGR that Kennedy was playing wing, at times with Roy and Vanek, and they noted that he played well.

When I went back to look at the stats, I saw he had a goal and an assist.

Can anyone who saw the game give me some insight?

Well, to be better, he'd have to be better offensively. He has been better offensively as of late, but "hisstatsarehisstats.com".

He's a natural wing. That's what he played when he was a scoring force for the Spartans.

We should keep playing him at wing. He's not a good center.

but then you're forced to play him with centers only. I love him being both. Center first, winger next. As he gets older it affords the versatility the cap forces on you.

That's provided he gets better at center.

I guess it is always good to have players capable of playing center, even if they aren't the best at it. It at least can help if or when injuries happen to teams, especially if they are thin at center.

He appears to be smart enough to do very well. Kid just has that "dare me" look(the one Mike Ryan, etc lacked) all the time. Timmay 2 just may be one of our brighter spots.

A very valid point. Once he improves his faceoffs and protecting the puck, he'll be just fine.

I'm just glad to see him back in the position he excelled so strongly at.

Kennedy should be a winger for the rest of his career.

It's great if he can fill in at center, but he's just not the playmaking type.

Give him a few more games, and you'll see what kind of finisher Timmy can be.

I'm very, very happy to have him on the wing.

I remember watching Kennedy and Abdelkader fucking TEAR IT UP in the Frozen Four the year MSU beat BC for the national title. They were sick.

Amusingly enough, I watched Gerbe and BC beat MSU the next year for the national title.

I think another good thing about Kennedy playing wing is that he's on a line of scorers, not grinders. When Ruff put him with Grier and I think Hecht(?) at the beginning of the season, I was wondering what the heck he was trying to do. Kennedy is a top two line player, not a grinder. I'm very happy Timmy has found his way with what I think are proven scorers.

i wouldnt go so far as to say that hes a top two line player. hes good, but if he was top two, he would have been their already.

I like the move. He had a lot of great passes last night against Tampa and helped Roy and Vanek get some chances (ones they did not put away, unfortunately). I can tell he's starting to come into his own as a play making winger, which is great, because that's where he belongs. I don't mind if he keeps working on faceoffs and such in practice to become a better center in the future. Right now having him on the wing is the right choice. He's got the right attitude and fantastic work ethic and I think he will eventually become a solid point producer for this team.

He's one of those players who needs to be a top two line player and put on a scoring type line.

He is great defensively but he is like Ennis and Gerbe. If they get called up they just can't cut it well enough to be on the third or fourth line as that is not how they play.

I disagree with this statement.

He's not a top two line center, but he is a top two line winger.

And until Lindy decided to switch him to wing, he wouldn't be on the top two lines.

I've really been enjoying him on the wing with Roy and Vanek. That line has been tearing up and Kennedy has been doing pretty well along the walls and has been getting pucks to his linemates. I think playing the wing is something he is a lot more comfortable with and it shows. He definitely seems to play more naturally as a winger.

His stats wouldn't say so, but the way he plays, he can't play with grinders on the third line. He needs scorers around him to reach his potential. Putting Vanek with Grier and him was a start, but Kennedy isn't a playmaker from center. From the wing, he's an excellent playmaker and scorer.
