I had a chance for the first time in a couple of weeks to sit down and actually enjoy the game between Buffalo and Tampa Bay this evening.
I was completely thrilled to see the team score some goals and show up in the first part of the first period.
I know its Tampa and they have some work to do down there yet, but I saw nice crisp passing and players moving their legs in the offensive zone more than what I have seen in a couple of weeks now.

Pomminville seems to have finally read some of the posts on this site and actually hit the net with his shots. As it turns out, when he shoots and hits the net, he's actually pretty good at it. Of course, did anyone else notice that he applied the "Position, Position, Position" philosophy which, in turn produced goals?
I also enjoyed Lydmans play this evening, blocking alot of shots and taking the puck away from the opponent in our end quite a bit this evening.

All in all they had a really good showing this evening.
I don't know, I probably missed alot more that I could have posted on the positive side. I only hope they can show this type of play for an additional 10 games for the regular season. That's what I feel they need to do to secure the division.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Pominville has an awesome shot. It's his puck handling, size and skating that are in question. Don't get too giddy, even Edmonton scores 6 sometimes.

/sorry, party on Wayne.

Lindy jumbling the lines worked, which is always awesome to see. I was proud as hell to see Lydman's game look so sharp, and he even had a couple of assists to pad his stat line this evening.

One other thing I noticed was, and this should come to no surprise, but when Ryan Miller was caught out of position and Downie scored, who was right there never giving up? Myers, who has been bascially magnetized to the crease, watching Miller's back.

The kid's gonna need to seriously beast it up during the stretch run, as Howard and Duchene are breathing down his neck.

I was also really pleased with Derek Roy tonight. And also that the team scored an empty-netter.

Pomminville didn't miss the net for once on the wide open net.. Now if I could only say that about the million previous open nets, wed be sitting good..

But alas, tonight's win did feel great.. Another loss would have been devastating, now Im thrilled.. GO SABRES!!

Pominville used his wrist and snap shot.

That's why he scored goals tonight.

Did he even break a stick tonight???

Plus Buffalo pretty much owns Tampa Bay

Pominville was dominant tonight. It seemed like he could do no wrong. I believe he has him self a little point streak going, no? (Checks sabres.com) Yes indeed, 9 points in a 5 game point streak. This is very good for him and I really hope he keeps it up.

If Miller and Myers were playing like they did last year, we'd probably be over 500 right now.

If I had decided to jerk off instead, I probably wouldn't be paying child support...

Pominville is a stretch run player. His stats at the end of the season are incredible.

I was just reading about his production around the last 1/4 of the season...Pommer steps it the fuck up when it counts most.
